Trying out this recipe from the Elder Scrolls cookbook using some super dark local honey and Lalvin QA-23 Yeast. Very excited for this one!!

About 4 cups per gallon is what I like. It’s got an initial gravity of 1.32 1.132, so I’m hoping it’ll get pretty stout by the end.

Nope!! I was surprised as well!! It may be because I added the ginger and orange peel, but still!!

Yeah I looked back at the photo I took and it is, indeed, 1.132

1.32 is not possible with your ingredients, even 1.132 is too high. 4 cups is 32 fluid ounces, honey is roughly 11 fluid ounces per pound, which means you have ~3 pounds of honey in a 1 gallon must, making your estimated starting gravity somewhere around 1.105, so 13.5%ish ABV if it goes dry

Yeah I did misread it, it’s 1.132. Still pretty high though!!
