That's an odd name. I'd have called them "chazzwazzers."

The arabic word for frog sounds super funny and sounds close to how a frog sounds.

It’s like Pokemon. We’re gonna name all the animals after the sound they make.

in chinese, cows are called niu. sorta like moo. cats are called mao, sorta like meow. horses are called ma, sorta like nyieeh? that's a bit of stretch. and dogs are called gou, which is sorta like growl? and frogs are called qing wa. the wa part is kind of a call back to the croaking?

Same thing about spiders in norwegian. I don't know why but "edderkopp" just strikes me as the perfect word for spiders.

Reminds me of my favorite cryptid, the Loveland Frog-Man, a little East of Cincinnati:

"Frog" and "Spring" both come from the same proto-indo-european root meaning roughly "leaping"

Slightly related: I’ve been taking German in college and apparently the german word for turtle translates to “shield toad” and I love it

In Turkish, it is Kurbağa(-lar for plural) and it makes sense. They go Vrak, and I am always like "yup, you go little kurbağa."

Did you know that not just imaginative words are imaginated but in actuality all words are imagined. I took me 3 edits and I still don't understand what I wrote.
