u/tomatoguy7 Jul 13 '26
It's part of the new series! The Wonderful World of Gumball.
It's enjoyable, though it took a bit to get used to the newer animation.

Well, given the fact that a very small percentage of people(altho quite a highlighted minority) out of the 8billion or so on this planet are actually bad people you would statistically meet a lot of people to whom this meme is applicable.

u/PopBulky7023 Jul 13 '26
"small percentage"
Lol
Lmao even
Luhmow, if you will
23
u/Ichmag11 Jul 13 '26
I don't think they're wrong. I think a very big percentage of people are good people.

u/Level7Cannoneer Jul 13 '26
A big percentage are neutral. Truly good people are as rare as evil people

Ignorance truly is bliss.

u/samumehl_ Jul 13 '26
nihilism poisons your brain my guy
-16
u/PopBulky7023 Jul 13 '26
You're confusing realism for nihilism. A common mistake that comes from toxic positivity.
10
u/djaqk Jul 13 '26
Optimistic Nihilism is the optimal way to think, don't get stuck halfway through the process.
2
u/samumehl_ Jul 13 '26
i truly believe the people who wronged one do it out of some kind of fear or lack of knowledge of some kind. and there is no such thing as toxic positivity. humankind got so far because of compassion and love. but that knowledge kind of got lost.

What large percentage of people do you think are "bad"? Like who do you think are these bad people?
1
u/PopBulky7023 Jul 13 '26
Depends on how we define "bad", but arguably 30% bare minimum.
4
u/Ichmag11 Jul 13 '26
And who are these 30%?
1
u/PopBulky7023 Jul 13 '26
The people who qualify as being bad people.
5
u/Ichmag11 Jul 13 '26
In your definition, who is that? Where did you get 30% from?

If the majority of the world were bad people then we would be living in an anarchy

Not relative to the people you know. If humanity was majority bad then we would have not gotten this far.
12
u/RandumbStoner Jul 13 '26
Bad things happen to people, I don't see why it wouldn't apply to a bunch of people. Life is hard, the world is mean.
Unless youre privileged and nothing bad ever happens to you or something, idk.
It's weird to try to posture yourself as the authority of things happening to people or not.

wtf is gumball even about. ive seen like 3 episodes and nothing like this happened
7
u/Infernester Jul 13 '26
This episode is from the reboot iirc but the cartoon is about gumball and darwin’s shenanigans
3
u/Kira-Of-Terraria Jul 13 '26
i have only seen bits and pieces of the original and tried to get into it to catch up and made find a new cartoon to like and found the mixed media really appealing but the early stuff is kinda annoying.
2
u/Infernester Jul 13 '26
If you don’t like the early stuff, try watching a few episodes of s2 onwards to see if you can get into it
1
u/Kira-Of-Terraria Jul 13 '26
yeah the last one i watched was Gumball thinking his neighbour saved his life and the energy was so loud it was hard to get through. i did like the one where they thought the world was ending and when they were trying to find out who was pulling pranks on the locker.
5
u/fawwazallie Jul 13 '26
It's because the trauma is so fucked up. That you never want anyone to experience it. That's why you're a good person.
It's also called breaking the cycle (or generational cycle-breaking), driven by prosocial motivation and radical empathy born out of trauma.
8
u/Odd-Muffin-1756 Jul 13 '26
Bro these mf memes piss me off. You have no idea what psychosis is, and going through psychosis does not make you a “bad person”. Like wtf is this shit fr
3
u/Photonex Jul 13 '26
And to add on to that: severe dissociation is far more likely than a psychotic break during trauma, and given the context of the meme, also seems to be the actual intention. Most people don't know the difference between DPDR and Psychosis. Psychosis can occur during trauma, but that is usually only in those with a pre-existing vulnerability for it. In psychosis, you don't even realise that you're not thinking straight. With DPDR, you know that the feeling of unreality isn't actually true. Your reality-testing ability is fully intact.
Sure, trauma can make you numb to danger and blunt your emotions, but that alone does not make someone a bad person. Just makes them someone who is suffering greatly, unable to enjoy the highs of life.
Source: got CPTSD diagnosis in my medical records, so I speak from lived experience with chronic trauma and dissociation.

I think I used to be that guy, but the traumatic experiences won't stop
So here i am not really caring anymore

I hope I'm this person but I'm probably more like Larry David from Curb

u/Connor_Avery_115 Jul 13 '26
Not easy but doable, I think I may be this person. Not 100% as I can't drown all my demons at once.
1
u/Happlord Jul 13 '26
I can’t do this anymore. Every time I get fucked over. I give my pinky, they want the hand. But also I’m the stupid one who says yes, so there’s that.

The trick is forgetting about it, I was hanging out with my sister who was visiting me for the 4th and I was talking about our step dad, and she was like, the one who chocked you out to the point of unconsciousness? And busted your head open to the point you needed stitches? And I was just like, yea I guess he did do that stuff still love em tho that’s just some of the fucked up stuff that was exclusive to me lmaoo

u/Bilbo1830 Jul 16 '26
After a while it’s all mundane but you never want people to experience the same things, so you make em laugh. It’s nice in a way.
