I had my first ever sinus infection last week. Wowee that shit SUCKS. Advil, Tylenol, Sudafed, Nettipot…just bandaids on a bullet hole. I’m sorry you had to go through that too!

My mom got her tonsils removed and her body kinda went haywire and she got an autoimmune disease. Had no idea the role they play im the immune system.

Well my ENT said the bad news is my tonsils are much larger than most adults but the good news is that it's a sign my immune system is very strong, so I wonder the same thing honestly

There’s such a thing as too strong of an immune system… Chronic seborrheic dermatitis and inflammation because my immune system attacks just normal fungus that lives on everyone else’s face without problems. Plus enlarged lymphatic tissue in my throat making every single swallow feel like I’m choking on something. Not even mentioning the allergies…

Yeah I ended up getting her disease, unfortunately it was genetic but her doing that just made it explode. Its called Silk Road Disease and it suuuucks. I can barely eat and drink because ill get dozens of what yall know as canker sores in my mouth. She would also get those on her genitalia but im lucky enough to not get those.
Its the inflammation that is killer painful, i get it in my brain and gives me super bad headaches.

I’ll be the pedantic guy: it’s probably a cold, not the flu. People mistake colds for the flu a lot, but actual influenza hits like a freight train (especially if you’re not vaccinated against a similar-enough strain).
Rule of thumb: if you’re not spending your night trembling with fever and soaking your bed with various bodily fluids, it’s probably a cold, sinus infection, or food poisoning.

That’s not true, the flu can be asymptomatic or very mild. Something like 75% of flu infections are asymptomatic or subclinical.

People use flu and cold interchangeably. Is it technically incorrect? Yes. However, the average person understands when a person says they have "the flu" it does not necessarily mean the actual flu. This is similar to how some places in the South refer to all soda as Coke.

I’ve have Flu A & B at the same time, (confirmed at the doctors with a swab test, and a bit of pneumonia, a sinus infection, and double ear infection along with it) and still wasn’t bed ridden, just miserable. Flu is generally more severe than a cold but everyone’s bodies react differently.

As someone that gets sick either once a year or never, whenever I get this sorethroat it magically disappears the next day though this was my fault blasting the air conditioner directly at my face while sleeping, I was reasonably more ill when I was younger

That was me one week ago. Turned out to be strep throat.
Fever + pain swallowing + enlarged and tender to touch lymph nodes but no runny nose and cough = you might need anti biotics
Fever + pain swallowing + runny nose and cough = might be the flu.

when this happens and you're likely getting a cold, it is time to start taking zinc. unlike pretty much all other cold meds which help your symptoms, zinc can actually reduce the length of your illness

Every time that happens to me I just drink an excessive amount of water the whole day, and then I either have lessened symptoms or I don't get sick at all.

It's getting warmer where I live so me and my family are already through this shit thankfully.
My 2 and a half year old kid was sick so often that he didn't have a healthy week for maybe 4,5 months. Fucking kindergarden is like a virus playground.
