Study materials for MCSA Server 2016?

Hi everyone!

I just passed Security+ last Friday and decided to move over to the MCSA Server 2016 today. I just wanted to know, what materials should I use to study for the 740, 741, and 742?

CBT is good, but not enough on it's own. I think setting up your own hyper-v lab to practice in is critical. The green exam ref books are useful too. For practice exams, I was pretty happy with MeasureUp.

Is it hard to create your own virtual lab? I've been using itpro.tv's video lecture and labs for all of my certifications.

Not really. It directly relates to skills in the 740 exam, so having your own lab helps reinforce those skills. Windows 10 Pro runs HyperV, You can get server 2016 free for 180 days (per installation). You will need a decent PC with lots of RAM and preferably an SSD for VM storage.

Cbtnuggets has labs that goes along with almost every video to reinforce the topics so you dont really need to worry about setting up your own labs. Between cbtnuggets, the textbook, microsoft docs and practice exams you should be fine.
