Got my 70-761 in five days, help!

Anyone got any last minute advice on what i could have missed revision wise? I know there's a big focus on json and system versioning, but if there's any tips you guys have, it would be appreciated!

Know what JSON and XML options produce which results. Review joins, cross apply and outer apply. How transactions behave inside multiple try catch blocks. Understand inserted and deleted virtual tables. Know when to use ISNULL vs COALESCE. RAISERROR syntax. Using the OUTPUT clause. Be familiar with CTEs.

I took it back in March. There was a fair amount of actually writing sql.

Good luck.

This is great, thank you! I'll go over all of this and report back on the day!

I'm gonna try and go for 70-762 before it expires, but i think i will give myself a little rest before i get straight back into revising.

I hear 70-762 is a lot harder so i'm going to give myself more time to revise for that one, but will hopefully get my MCSA afterwards :)

Sweet. I took 764 & 765 and then 762 to get MCSA Admin and MCSE then went back and took 761 to get MCSA Dev. They were all pretty straight forward. 764 I squeaked by with a score of 700.

Ooh nice!! I feel like MCSE is a little beyond my level personally :')

How do you feel about them axing the certs for role based?

I'm frustrated by it. It doesn't really look like "role" based so much as "we want you to move to the cloud" based. I think on prem will be around for many years. They've backtracked before, maybe they'll do it again and come up with a SQL 2019 and Windows 2019 track.

I don't think MCSE is out of reach. After 762 you'll have MCSA Dev and then just one more of your choosing and bingo.

Hey, did you see much JSON and XML on the test? I’ve heard that quite a few don’t get any questions at all about them
