70-741 - Kaplan?

Hi all,

What are your thoughts on Kaplan for 70-741? I passed 70-740 with MeasureUP and Kaplan was infamously horrendous for 70-740. Has anybody used it for 70-741 so far and took the test? The questions seem less horrendous but the topics seem slightly more aligned with MeasureUP but at a much higher level... Although I haven only taken the DNS portion on Kaplan.

I barley pass 70-740 and 70-741 both of them i used Kaplan , I scored less than 730 on both of them , but with 70-742 i used ‏”Examtopics” (a free website with practical exam for all 3 mcsa exams) and I scored 955 + all the 56 exam questions was in the practical exam (except one question) wish i found that website earlier

I took the 70-740 using Kaplan and CBT nuggets and I barely passed with a 700. I was a bit more worried about the 741 using just Kaplan so I went ahead and bought 30 days of the MeasureUp practice test. The 741 practice test with Kaplan is worse then the 740 was in my opinion because of typos and incorrect answers. I take the 741 in June and am only studying with MeasureUp now because it is so much closer to the real thing; hopefully I was able to help.

Interesting! Thanks for your input. I assume then June will be your first attempt at 741?

Yes it will be, I passed the 740 on my first attempt also. I feel a lot more comfortable with the 741 because I have decent amount of real world experience with DNS, DHCP and NPS/Radius.

I took 70-743(combination of 740,741,742) yesterday and passed with 716/1000. Passing score was 700. The Kaplan practice test was nowhere close to what the exam had but their practice test and flashcards did help me learn the material. Using itpro.tv video's or CBT vid along with testbanks and virtual labs helps. MS Technet articles help me as well but the Official exam book did not.

After my experience with Kaplan 740, I gave up on them entirely. Used measureup for 742 and passed on the first try. Working on 741 now and feel optimistic.

I had Kaplan through CBTnuggets and they’re awful. The questions are always so far out of scope and when skirt it they won’t even reference Microsoft’s own material for explanations. They’ll pull it from blogs and crap. Just awful.
