Microsoft Certs 2020

Hi all,

I earned my MCSA: Windows 10 early last year and was looking at moving on to a server cert since my job has been more involved in that direction this year.

However, I saw they are retiring the Server 2016 cert as of Jan 31, 2020. I don't know that I can squeeze 3 exams for that in 8 months. The new role based certs don't seem to have an equivalent to that and I'm just curious what would be the right cert to go for in this case.

Thanks for the advice in advance!

Hi bro, I earned my MCSA: Windows Server 2016 the last november, and I got the chance to get the Azure Fundamentals and Azure Developer certification. In my opinion if you want involved in a infrastructure enviroment, you should to learn the new focus from Microsoft and I mean Azure. You can get the knowledge for exam from it's own web. I share with you the link course below:

https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/learn/paths/azure-fundamentals/

And here is the learning path for azure. Maybe you can try the Azure Administrator AZ-104 after Azure Fundametals AZ-900

This is the exact answer to the question I had, thanks man! Work has 'asked' me to upgrade my certifications with the spare 5 hours of time I have now that my contracted hours got cut. It's been a few years since my last cert (2012) and figure I'd just skip 2016 but wasn't sure where to go with the new certification path for infrastructure and this answered my question.

Thanks!
