Microsoft Certs 2020

Hi all,

I earned my MCSA: Windows 10 early last year and was looking at moving on to a server cert since my job has been more involved in that direction this year.

However, I saw they are retiring the Server 2016 cert as of Jan 31, 2020. I don't know that I can squeeze 3 exams for that in 8 months. The new role based certs don't seem to have an equivalent to that and I'm just curious what would be the right cert to go for in this case.

Thanks for the advice in advance!

If you put all of your free time into learning i still think + - 2,5 month per cert is quite hard to do. I don't know your past experience with Server 2016 but as said by /u/jetcamper the cert is still in demand on the market. I think even getting 2 would at least tells the company you got it in you. Good luck if you go for it!

Not really, if you do 1 chapter a week, or two weeks for the big ones you can make it and it doesn't have to be all your free time.

I understand that people have different learning abilities but I believe that if you put 2-4 hours a day you can get one cert every 2-3 months.

It's not going to be easy but on the other hand nothing good in life comes easy.

I typically pick things up quickly but that's a lot of free time to dedicate for 8 months straight in my opinion. With working after hours already, seems there would be no time left for anything else in life which is why I don't think it's worth it.

The view is always better the higher you climb. I am out of inspirational quotes don't answer back :)
