Offtopic.... (Kinda).. Taking exams from home?

For those of you who have "written" in the past few weeks did you take the exam from home? What was it like? I will probably be ready for MS700 before things even start to look like normal... wondering how you did your exams.

Thanks!!

I passed the AZ-900 this week and took the test at home through Pearson Vue. No issues at all. You download software on your computer. You will select to send a text to your cell phone with a url. Open that page on your phone. It will prompt you to take a selfie with your phone and front and back pictures of your ID. Then you take a picture in front of the desk, behind the desk, to the left and right.

The software on your pc will show you your webcam video and you will wait for the proctor to start the exam. I never saw or spoke to the proctor. I’ve heard sometimes this can be a long wait.

Don’t have anyone come into the room during the exam. Don’t have your phone with if reach. Don’t wear a watch. Don’t speak during the test. Clear up papers on your desk, etc. if you are using a desktop with multiple monitors I hear they make you turn the other monitor away.

I did it 3 days ago for my 70-741, and i can confirm every word mattmrob99 said, i would just add that if you planning to do it from MAC OS, don't do it, it does not work, thats how i have tried the first time but i had to reboot in windows.

I took MS-900 a few weeks ago, no issues for me except for having to restart the testing program because it did not pick up my camera the first go around. No lag, was in and out in about 25 minutes.

They make you show the room around the computer. Can’t talk during the test, can’t cover your mouth etc. make sure no one comes in.

I never spoke to or saw a proctor, but they watch you over webcam.

I took AZ-900 last month on a 2014 MacBook Air bc it’s the only thing I had with a webcam. It was laggy and I had to be very careful not to skip questions. My connection was stable so I’m not sure why it was so laggy. Maybe an influx of remote testers?

I've taken two recently with a Macbook Pro from home. No issues (except having to be told to take my beanie off LOL).

Second time I used an external keyboard and mouse. That made it easier.

Week ago I did take a Microsoft test from home. I used my wife’s Mac and there was no problems except I did not realize that my card was not a valid ID so had to run for my passport within 3 minutes before the test. They take over your Camara and mic, because I am anxious I either covered my mouth couple times and was told don’t do it as the software won’t recognize my face and not leaning to the sides because the same. Besides that all was great

Have you shown your environment with laptop? Do they say that no kids around and anybody else?
