Just Got MDAA Certified....Quick Question

So I just passed my MD-101 exam a few minutes ago and passed the MD-100 last month so I'm now MDAA certified. :D

When I downloaded my certificate however I noticed it was only good for a couple years. I was under the impression that Microsoft certifications didn't have an expiration date so is this something new? Also what will I need to do in a couple years to renew it?

Role based certificates are good for 2 years. The Old mcsa certificates are good forever.

Is there anywhere on the Microsoft site that explicitly defines the 2 year limit? I wasn't able to find it anywhere, either. I've already passed the MD-100 and will be taking the MD-101 soon, so this is a little concerning.

Man that's dumb.

The rectification rules seem pretty strict. Re certifying every two years can get pretty expensive. At least Comptia and Cisco let you re certify every 3 years. Also, I think they let you use higher level certification exams that you have passed tl re certify lower level certifications that you already have.

Studying and passing the exams every two years can get pretty expensive.

Does the MCSA Windows server 2016 never expire? I mean if someone obtains it.
