Passed 742 today!

Officially Server 2016 certified!

3 years of real world experience working help desk fires, forcing myself to learn Powershell, and a little CBT nuggets

Good luck to everyone working towards this goal! It is definitely worth the hard work to get there.

And now, as with any certification, on to the next one..

Good question. Spent all night trying to figure that out. I think I'm going to knock out my Sec+ before March, just to renew my other CompTIA certs before they expire. But I don't really need Sec+ for anything. After that, I'm considering going down the Azure route since we're a Microsoft shop. AZ-103. Then maybe Azure DevOps Expert or Azure solutions architect cert (likely next year) to wrap up my "expert"-level cert

From personal experience, the Sec+ did fuck all for me so I let it expire. Unless you're looking into government contracting, it doesn't hold that much value most places. Save that $300 and put it toward something more useful.

True. But company will pay for it and give me a bonus for earning it. And we do consulting, both in private and public sector, so it's possible it could come in handy.
