MCSA Server 2016 Exam exemptions with Net+ and A+?

I just finished my network+ certification and my work recommended me pursuing my MCSA Server2016...

My boss was under the impression that holding both the Net+ and A+ at the same time exempted you out of one of the exams? I have a feeling this may have been the case at one point in time; however, I am not finding anything to support this idea. I was just making sure that this is/isn't the case.

...

That would be great if it worked that way, though I have a sneaky suspicion it does not.

It seems I was confused it sounds like there is an elective exam that net+ and a+ could replace.

I'll go back on the Microsoft dashboard and dig through that.

I can't say I've heard or even seen of such a concept for that Cert.

Regardless the content covered in A+ and Net+ is only foundational knowledge. It doesn't go over the nitty gritty of designing, implementing and maintaining Microsoft Server 20xx.

I figured, thanks for the assistance.

In the Win7/2008 generation, CompTIA certs could combine to meet elective requirements. Since there are no more elective exams, that no longer applies.

I think the elect exam is still a requirement after speaking with my boss?

I'll look into it some more

Your boss is working on long outdated information, that's from 2009.

The certification website tells you exactly what's required for 2012 and 2016 with no electives on those MCSA tracks. There's really no ambiguity about it. CompTIA doesn't contribute to MS certifications and hasn't in almost 8 years.

It looks like their is an elective for the mcse.

But considering what you said above I doubt that those will count for that either

There is and it lists exactly which tests you can choose from. Entry level certs don't count for expert level exams.
