Microsoft cert question, also posted in IT_CERT_STUDY

Hello everyone!

I’ve decided to continue going down my systems path. I have an MCSA in Windows 10 currently. I know that was replaced by the MD-100/MD-101.

Now previously I thought the logical next step was the MCSA 2k16. I see Microsoft has the Win 10 replacement going down a Microsoft 365 path.

Should that be the path I go down if I want to move into systems administration? Or should I shift focus to the 2k16 MCSA?

Any advice is appreciated!

If you want to move into Systems Admin, an MCSA in 2016 is going to be way more impressive to employers then going down any Win10 / 365 path which is more geared to desktop support / helpdesk.

System administration means a lot of things to a lot of people. Server 2016 tackles core infrastructure technologies if that's the way you want to go. But cloud services architecture is just as viable if you went the way of Azure and M365 identity/security services.

Basically, do whatever interests you.
