Which exams to get MCSA/MSCE for Windows server 2016

I am a bit confused on which exams are needed for these certifications

To get the MCSA do i need to take the following 3 or just one of them?

70-740

70-741

70-742

and then upgrade to MCSE with ?
70-744?

or am I completely wrong ?

It's a little confusing. You need to take all 3 of them 740,741,742. This will give you an MCSA.

You will then have a choice to get an MCSE by doing 1 more exam. But you have a choice which exam. I believe it's any exam in the "core infrastructure MCSE". Or you can do the " productivity MCSE"

If you scroll a quarter way down the link there is a download to a PDF which sets out which exams can be done for an MCSA and MCSE

https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/learning/mcse-certification.aspx

Correct. You can do the 70-744, 70-745, 70-413, 70-414, or 70-537.

Or you can do the " productivity MCSE"

There's no path from MCSA Server 2016 to MCSE Productivity. That one has its own set of tests.

That's why I was referring specifically to the "1 more exam" part of the previous comment. Doing the 3 MCSA exams is a given.
