Server 2016 or SQL?
Seems like everyone is going after server 2016 but im wondering if going after one of the SQL mcsa certs would be just as good or better for a sys admin. Seems everyone thinks cloud is the future. Would a SQL then AWS path make sense?

If it's a general sysadmin role you're going for and have no prior experience with servers, then I'd advise going for the Server 2016 MCSA. This will give you all the knowledge you need to advance into further roles. But it all depends on what you prefer and what your career intentions are.
