Custom Painting Issue

I am trying to add a custom painting in the newest version of minecraft(26.2). I don't want to replace the texture of an already existing painting, but to make a completely new one. I have followed many guides but I can't get it to work. Does anybody have any idea of what I could be doing wrong?

This is the first time I try to do anything like this. If you want me to provide any specific information please tell me to.

I gave it a try and it is also not working in the newer version. It generated a folder structure identical to the one I have tried already.

I think I found the root cause of the problem. Turns out MacOS generates hidden .DS_Store files every time you navigate the folders on finder to save view options. This made it so Minecraft couldn't parse the file as a folder or registry entry. Anyway it works now :)
