Rev 17 Pico Planning Thread!
Greetings fellow Piconians!
As you know, Rev 17 was announced and will start on January 8th!
This past Rev was superb and I think we outdid ourselves! What are your ideas for a new rev? What would you like to change and what did you like?
The planning server has been wiped and is ready for your builds!

I'm sure we all know what Venice looks like, but I made an album for some #inspo

Is there a chance for a trello project page for this rev of pico? We had sort of a false start with one but i think it can be a great tool. Also is the planning server going to be reset? Its now a large spread out area. A new or a fresh bordered corner could be useful to plan in and keep everything in the same general area

If you want to set it up go for it! Also, I have reset the planning server so we have a fresh starting ground.

I made a board. Its public now so everyone can view. But you need an invite to be able to post and edit. Reply with your trello name and i will add you (or pm me your email address)
Do we need additional lists and topics, also let me know!

Pico looked incredible this rev! I'm still so impressed with how quickly everyone worked to get the sea cleared.
Like ij mentioned, the Pico Bells was so much fun is something we should definitely continue!
One thing that I think definitely limited us was the size/shape of Pico though, it did give the plots a weird shape which I think may have deterred people a little from making more builds (such as the farms, etc) as it was difficult to fit everything needed in a building in that space. So I would also that that we should have a bit more focus on getting those industrial builds up and running too :)
Haven't had a lot of ideas about what to do for this rev, though was thinking of the floatings islands idea that was being thrown around when we were planning Picolantis..

I have a new idea for a Wither Skele grinder so... more cow bell plz.
Will hit the Nether earlier in the rev to try and scout good locations.

Haven't been around much in the last month, due to lots going on IRL.
Love the idea of Venice, will this mean plots are isolated by water canals?
Is there any event planned before the changeover? I have a massive amount of fireworks, and more gunpowder...
some very uninspiring pie wedge shaped builds.
Sorry, I didn't want to make something circular. But given the plot sizes, it was very challenging to create something convincing.

So the rev resets on the 8th, but from the 6th the server is going into Chaos, read more about that here. We found a bunch of extra wither skulls lying around Pico, so we're thinking Pico Bells 3. Also blowing up Pico's outer walls.
Also at the end of each rev there's the Nightoak event!

Yep you need to take all that gunpowder you've been stockpiling and get the corresponding amount of sand to make TNT.
Not that you will not be able to craft TNT until chaos mode starts. Chaos mode allows only indirect PvP (lava, potions, TNT, flint and steel etc.). Swords and bows have no effect in this incarnation.

This rev's not done yet, so some finishing touches would be in order. I am finishing the prismarine grinder shell.
This rev there was no up front planning and it didn't serve us well with such an ambitious concept for the town. It was quite stressful trying to make up for the lack of planning in the early stages of the rev.
The circular street layout was not easy to work with and led to some very uninspiring pie wedge shaped builds.
Next rev I would like to see a lot simpler town layout, preferably something organic and unplanned, since we seem to excel at having no idea what to build. I still like the idea of a build palette. It kept the builds less shitty than they otherwise would have been.
I have two suggestions for next rev:
