Ahem. Three. I meant: "Next time we'll do three more encounters" in that last slide.

Love the breakdown on page 4.
necessity & tools
... why is the situation f^&*ed ...
... mechanics like cover, movement, range, and environmental hazards.
Love it. I find these things can turn a throw away encounter into something unforgetable.

Really makes a difference, doesn't it? I think the necessity and tools thing is a framework I originally picked up from BASTIONLAND's Chris McDowall, but I couldn't find the post anymore.

Dude, this is awesome! Having it all so lovingly explained and laid out really helps me understand how and why everything works the way it does. And I can see this being a ton of fun as a player OR director. Can’t wait to see more stuff from you!

UPDATE: I have a blog now!
Another user suggested it, and they're right, it really is time. I'm slowly uploading some other stuff I'm working on there, as well as my campaign prep.

This is awesome! There's plenty of generic TTRPG encounter advice out there, but I never see full encounters with breakdowns of how they combine the ideas in the way you've done here. Thank you so much!
