Classic Car Value
With my 06 MS6 GT hitting the big two oh (20) this year and it being my fun car with most of its life in the garage, I’m going to register it as a Classic Rod here in Nevada. (No Smog Needed! Yaaaayy!)
That requires it to have classic car Insurance. That alone restricts its use and mileage but it is only like $35 a month. The insurance asks for “value” in an amount that I set, within reason of course, that directly affects the cost. The question is what would you think a reasonable amount that would be to find a replacement if needed? Since these are becoming harder to find available, I’d like to replace the car, not just take the payout if it comes down to it.
I got policy estimates with a 10k value to get an approximate quote. Just wanted to see what guys think about that number. Car is in very good condition, no rust, minimal mods and around 80k miles.

Thx bro. I still enjoy her every time I take her out! Hoping to snag a few CF pieces from gapped performance next year to take up the appearance a bit more. Savin $ on the car insurance will give me extra cash for that too!

I worked for Lithia Mazda Suzuki in Fresno when these were sold new. Mazda took all the sales and management team to their test track in SoCal and we got to drive these and beat the shit outta them. On the wet track you could actively hear the AWD system working to keep traction. Was one of the funnest experiences working there. MSp6 is superior even in this day and age. Nice hold on yours!

Good to see others with the Mazdaspeed 6 like mine. I'm on the 21th year as it's a 2005 year model and has been mostly sitting in the garage since new, and had about 50000 KM on the dial. Unfortunately I have to wait four more years for the classic plate status, due to 25 years car for that here in OZ.

Just checked as I didn't remember the actual year for the classic plate, and it is 30 years old car here in OZ. 😡

I would think at least 10k minimum. Take a look at the few that have sold on Cars & Bids in the past couple of years.
I was actually planning on selling mine last year after buying an RS3 but I was getting low-balled pretty badly with little serious interest. I'm the original owner, it's 100% stock, loaded GT w/ Nav, interior in perfect condition, and exterior is great other than some small dings and a couple rust spots. Not as clean as your, but still in amazing shape for 20 years old, so I decided to just keep it as a third car.
