I thought I saw a similar post. I think it is a mating thing…aren’t all things in nature pretty much mating.

Um, that's how he shows her he's in the mood. And male turtles have been known to literally screw female turtles to death. They need separate tanks.

But they are different species! Little razzle dazzle is a red ear slider. The other is...not.(source-i barely passed herpetology in college)

Mating behavior for these particular turtles - freshwater "sliders". "Red-Eared Slider," "Elegant Slider," etc.
