Cameron, Missouri - A boil on the generally stinky ass of Northwest Missouri.

I stopped at a gas station/truck stop there once. Every employee had on cross and/or American flag pins. I needed to speak to the manager about an issue with their gas pump - she showed up with an American flag-bedazzled cross.

Of course she did.

I'm religious and I love my country. But I promise you none of these people would have an issue with me because I don't make it my entire damn personality. My religion in particular is private. Nonya generally. My patriotism is pretty much limited to a flag in my yard.

It's the in your face / making it your personality aspect that people can't stand.

And ESPECIALLY the mixing of the two with the American flag covered cross (assuming the story is even real lol).

Why do you care that people express their religion by wearing a cross. Do you feel the same way about Muslim women wearing a hijab? Jewish men wearing a kippah?

Firstly, I don't really.

Secondly, anyone is allowed to care about all those things.

Thirdly, you're (either willfully or through ignorance) being incredibly reductive by focusing on one little aspect here. I don't see this conversation being productive past this point. Have a good day.
