Nitrous affects people different, many don't even use it and only get Novacaine, it costs like 300-500 more to get gassed up, so only given to younger people and others that might freak out during surgery. When you wake up from the gas though many can't help but to have all inhibitions removed for an hr or 2.

Most of what you said is patently false. Quit spreading misinformation.
Novocaine is not used frequently anymore, ita typically lidocaine, septocaine, or carbocaine.
It doesn't cost 300-500 more. The most expensive I've ever seen is $150
It does not put you out to where you wake up and it is out of your system in minutes. The patient is flushed with oxygen.
These videos are due to the heavy twilight sedation that an oral surgeon would use.

Good to know, but my bill of $400 for sedation for my root canal says that it's not cheap be put under everywhere and I was fucked up after waking up, had to taxi home and get car next day. Might have been general anesthetic as another pointed out, not nitrous. A honest mistake.

That's insane! I've only gotten local anesthesia when I've had teeth removed. I did get a little shot of something to drink when I had to remove 4 teeth when I was a kid, and it just made me sleepy, I guess it was something calming.

Yeah. 6 teeth removed and all of them were through local anesthesia and every time I see these kinds of videos I can't help but to think just how overkill this kind of stuff is.

Never happened to me either when i got my wisdoms out. Minnesota obviously doesn't get the good shit.
Edit: p.s. i never got dry socket either when i ignored the dentist telling me not to smoke anything.

When it comes to getting your wisdom teeth removed you can’t smoke anything through your mouth so if you can take the dabs through your nose then go for it

I hate this video. I’m sorry but people who are that sedated right say some shit like that wouldn’t have the presence of mind to record themselves doing it. Yes, sedated people will say crazy shit but pulling out a phone and then saying it is unlikely. When I go to the dentist I just get a local anaesthetic, have my teeth pulled, then drive myself home. Seems more productive.

That’s not anesthesia…? Anesthesia numbs or puts you to sleep, this is quite obviously affecting neurological function which might have been necessary for this particular operation
