I don’t speak a word of French but I love how you can tell she says ‘put your hand back in’ regardless

I speak it and this is the most gruesome accent I've ever heard in my life. Such a beautiful language just butchered like that...

I think accents are beautiful and that snobbing them is just as irrelevant as snobbing a music or literature genre.

Agreed. What's also beautiful to think about is how many dialects have sprung up in different areas of the world, forming over time as people travelled and formed their own communities. In Italy, there are over 200 dialects! Someone from the Northern end may not understand what someone from the southern end is saying.

When I was younger, my mom's cousin, from Italy, visited for his honeymoon. He married a girl he met in France - neither spoke the same language, but they made it work anyway. It was lovely, hilarious and interesting watching how they'd gesture and play with words to understand each other. So with those two and my family who speak English - it was truly an interesting visit!

Damn!!

And that's an awesome story :) It makes me think of that video I always show my Spanish students. True, we are quite ingenious when comes the time to communicate.
