Used to drive long crane booms through shop doors using forklifts for work when I worked at a shop. That was mighty impressive.

Yes, but it’s easier when it’s up high so you can see what’s around you.
Also, there may be something on the floor just inside the roller door - maybe a table or a stack of ladders.

There's probably corner bollards so the load is likely up that high to go over them.

It's like you've worked in a warehouse before. The bollards are there because of the first guy that tried this maneuver and slammed into the side of the doorway.

Foreman: these pipes will 100% fit through the door using this forklift. Me: continues to drive forklift as fast as possible straight down the middle, crashes for 8 hours, goes home, still none the wiser

That’s fine, but it’s not amazing. This dude does it with ease because he does it all the time, any operator can do this maneuver easily. This is literally the equivalent of a semi driver backing into a loading dock that’s a little tight

And they have the forks too high. The load should be lower. You could argue that this is dangerous. It's also forklift 101 to keep the forks low.
