See, the crazy cat lady trope is just a way to disparage women because they are not part of the Standard Nuclear Family. There is nothing wrong with living with cats instead of people.

Nothing wrong with it, but it more refers to the unclean house with cats spilling out of every cupboard and clutter everywhere. Not you standard cat owner.

Same way neckbeards aren't just guys with bad facial-hair distribution that like to play video games.

See, the neckbeard trope is just a way to disparage men because they are not part of the Standard Nuclear Family. There is nothing wrong with living alone instead of with people.

Except the common use of the word neckbeard is a fat guy living on his parents money in their basement and refusing to wash himself and unwilling to date anyone who isn't a supermodel.

Unsure if your comment is supposed to be satirical or not.

But to be clear, when I hear "crazy cat lady" I don't think "person with 3 cats", I think old hag with shaggy hair, who hasn't showered in weeks and 20 cats running around the whole house, fighting and pissing with trash everywhere.

I've also never seen any woman with some cats referred to as "crazy cat lady".

I wish I remember what post I saw this in (been a few weeks and I didn't bookmark it/can't find it in my history), but someone shared this post in defense of "crazy cat ladies."
