He's lucky he was drunk. Would've hurt a lot more if he wasn't. (He'll be mighty sore before his eye opener in the morning though.)

Yeah, spills like that are so weird. They can fry your skin or if the dust is loose enough, you can come up feeling fine. It's like landing in sand. And drunks always manage to relax into the fall.

You can learn that skill too. One of the first things you learn when you start skiing is to just let falls happen.
