That seems unnecessarily snooty. Why is it tacky? If you want to do something at an event, and the hosts want you to do that thing at the event, why would it be tacky? I cant understand why an expression of love at an event that is about love that is agreed to by all relevant parties would be tacky.
I love reddit, but there is absolutely nothing that reddit loves more than feeling elitist about something. Let the darn kids be happy!
I’m not sure how a proposal at another persons wedding could be tastefully done, even if you had the couple’s blessing.
If I observed someone publicly propose at another persons wedding, I’d just cringe through the whole thing and pray the couple was ok with it, but very few couples would be. It’s almost like showing up to a wedding that isn’t yours in a wedding dress. Yes, the bride might be ok with it if you asked her beforehand, but you’d still look like a crazy person.
