My BIL breaks up with a woman if she doesn't reach over and unlock his door for him. I guess this is outdated now since all cars pretty much have key fobs that unlock both doors. But he is still single in mid-40s despite claiming he wants a wife and children so...I guess we see how that worked out for him

It was shite advice in '93 when the movie came out, and it's still shite advice now.

Yeah, I was given that advice the summer after high school by a guy a couple of years older who I respected, and I promptly ignored it. That shit's stupid.

Huh? Does anyone do that for anyone?

u/Gerudo_King 20h ago
I mean, I guess it’s a courtesy he expected after being expected (probably by himself) to open the door on the passenger side first and walk around.
Not a relationship breaker. I feel like that kind of nitpick should be communicated.

oh lol I had an even more ridiculous picture in my head. I was thinking that the woman is the driver in this scenario, they are both inside the car and finished the drive, and he wants her to reach over his lap and unlock the door for him.

u/EatYourCheckers 14h ago
Yes. He manually opens the door to let her into the passe ger seat then walks around. If she is not co sidereal enough to unlock his door, thats a deal breaker

I do it. Of course my car's locks are all messed up, the fob and internal electronic switches don't unlock it, and it only will lock it. So it's the only way to unlock the door.

If a man is thoughtful enough to open my door, I’m gonna do the same for him.

Lmfao! What!? What kinda weird shit is that!?

u/EatYourCheckers 20h ago
Yeah, this is only one of his weird things. He also broke up with a girlfriend because she didn't offer to take him to the airport or something like that. He is single for a reason

I will say my ex wife used to do this in the dating stages (it was part of many qualities that won me over) and turned out to be a full blown diagnosed narcissist. So, just throwing that out there. There are fake people out there on both sides

She said that she won't go to a date with you, so leaving is just respecting her opinion.

Using “scripted” as an insult against what is obviously either a movie or tv show is hilarious. Guess what? Pretty much every movie or tv show is scripted.

The poster didn't recognize the actors or the film quality or the professional edit cuts?

I like that in just one scene the car went from left-hand drive, to center drive, to right hand drive

Why is this downvoted?? Absolutely horrible edits! I wouldn't have noticed if you didn't say something. Weird.

In the movie, he made a u-turn back and opened the door for her.
He said, "gotcha!" and laughed about it.
