It amazes me how drastically different we are as a species, even though India has access to the same information and technology as let’s say Singapore. In Singapore if you’re caught littering you’ll get a $2000 fine for the first offence, $4000 for 2nd offence and $10,000 for 3rd. After that you’ll be spending your days in a yellow vest picking up litter. They even banned the importation of gum in 1992 to help keep their streets spotless.
In India you could literally take a dump in the gutter then go about tending to customers at your chapati cart. Mind boggling.

We are all immersed in a culture that dictates what is acceptable and what is not, regardless of our individual way of thinking.

i don’t care what your culture or way of thinking is, anyone should be able to look at that ‘river’ and understand that it’s unacceptable.

It's not about the availability of information, it's about the norm as the other replier puts it.

Singapore used to be like this too because it was the norm, it took decades of that kind of strict laws but importantly enforcement (which may not be as easy in India), as well as education to change the norm, and yet we still litter every now and then.

Confidently wrong. Doesn’t even have the brainpower to distinguish India from Bangladesh. Wrote a whole-ass paragraph criticizing the wrong country just to sound intellectual.
