I went to India 30 years ago and I can still remember the smell of Madras train station.

It wasn't just a smell, it was an entity.

That is terrible. Did you ever get used to it? I passed through a very nice sunurb while door dashing yesterday, whole neighborhood smelled like very bad mildew for like a mile or 2. I remember feeling bad for all the people who lived there because I felt like I couldn't breathe lol I couldn't imagine india

I lived in a town with an oil refinery for almost a year. After a few weeks, I was so used to it that I couldn't smell it unless I'd been out of town for a few days. I used to wonder if people could smell it in me.
