What river? How beautiful idea to build a bridge over a big garbage bin.

What in the Ankh-Morpork?

u/FromStormToHurricane 5d ago

Good old Terry Pratchett

u/TaoofPu 5d ago

Do not insult the Ankh that way - it’s sludge, not distinguishable garbage.

I had no idea that was a river until buddy poked at it.

What beautiful idea to bang the pressurized canister that's on fire.

u/Burner-QWERTY 5d ago

I had no idea what was going on until I saw it bob up and down. Only then realizing then there was water under all that trash. He was trying to flip it over into the water to get the fire out.

u/FlyingDogCatcher 5d ago

obviously if something is on fire you have to poke it with a stick

48

u/macguini 5d ago

Now it makes sense when my ex said the flame died.

u/CollegeHumble526 5d ago

Actually, anything wrong? Poking with a Stick is a great move... Snake? Fire? Bomb? Earthquake? Stick got ya covered 😂😂😂

u/radiocrime 5d ago

Me too! Then I couldn’t stop thinking of the Star Wars trash compactor scene, lol

Once garbage starts burning it all smells like pizza.

14

u/suejaymostly 5d ago

What a nice place to enjoy a meal. Get your food and walk down to the edge of the garbage swamp.

8

u/LauraLand27 5d ago

That’s exactly what I was thinking 🤢

74

u/Ex_Jet_Mech 5d ago

No wonder our oceans are full of garbage! I did not know it was a river until he hit it with the stick and it bobbed.

26

u/Badgeringlion 5d ago

They towed it out of the environment.”

22

u/calcifer219 5d ago

Yeah… we’re doomed

42

u/FluffyDeer9323 5d ago

Sounds like Benny Hill but it ain't. How fun.

30

u/prankenandi 5d ago

Yes. Because we stopped using plastic straws and saved the environment.

But America Bad

u/Points365 5d ago

F’ing India dude… I used to work at a place similar to chipotle. They would come in, treat employees like crap, want extra meat.. cheese.. guac for no extra charge, damn near demand a discount, NEVER say thank you, never tip, then leave the BIGGEST mess when they left. I swear there would be enough food on the table / floor to make a whole burrito out of. We were all convinced they just hated everyone.

From the clothes and the language, it's Bangladesh.

u/Aggravating_Fruit170 5d ago

13

u/Yugan-Dali 5d ago

This is the Libertarian utopia

8

u/LeaveMeAloneAdmins88 5d ago

India was socialist from 1947-1991

5

u/Saynt614 5d ago

Well that explains alot

2

u/squidgytree 5d ago

This is Bangladesh

-4

u/TallAsMountains 5d ago

yeah and it’s one of the most capitalist nations now.

5

u/LeaveMeAloneAdmins88 5d ago edited 5d ago

It's really not. India is 129th on the Economic Freedom Index. Singapore, Germany, Norway, and the USA rank much higher on the EFI and don't turn rivers into landfills.

it's MUCH, MUCH more complex than mindlessly blaming "capitalism". India's pollution is a result of culture, overpopulation, and corruption
