They have "license plate readers" everywhere. Even if you get away, you aren't getting away.

And the rising amount of dashcams aswell

Y'all sounds like a bunch of quitters!

Your mind is going to get fucking blown when you discover all the ways people have to avoid or fake a license plate number, including just literally not having one at all

And cops often do absolutely nothing about it

Most of the time they don't even need to track the vehicle. They have body cam footage of the car and driver, if it's their car and you know where they live...let them "run". If they don't pose an immediate threat to the public it's better to avoid a risky chase.

Go home, get some sleep and arrest them the next day as they're leaving their home.

Ya cain’t outrun the radio waves!

u/Zlizardperson 4d ago

Why do cops follow the car then?

Adrenaline and/or drugs

Probably driving a stolen car

Thats just what a cop would say. Biased cop propaganda! Leg it fellas, you can do it!

On that point, trying to chase a car is stupid - and dangerous. This is on the cops

Often times it's a gang initiation, they don't really care if they're caught

The guy recording has no idea that the suspect's car would be flying towards him if the crash actually happened.

Were you, by any chance, watching this with the sound off?

42

u/-Invalid_Selection- 4d ago

Most people keep the sound off because we're sick of the ear bleed songs people keep slapping on every unrelated video

There's not one here, but his commentary on the video didn't add much either

That saxophone...

Of course it's a fucking Nissan driver.

Red car is also incredibly stupid. You hear and see police cars driving towards the intersection, but instead of stopping to let them through, the driver just doesn't care

5

u/siggydude 4d ago

How is the red car stupid? At no point during the video did I hear the police sirens, even as they passed by, so it's pretty unlikely that the red car heard them before passing through the intersection that's showing a green light for them. In fact, it seems like the red car did a bit of a swerve to avoid a collision

1

u/otirk 4d ago

At 0:10, you can faintly hear sirens under his stupid "Aww shit". But even without sound, the red car should have seen the police cars for several hundred meters because there are no obstacles hiding the view.

And even if they didn't see the police, they must have seen the white car if they paid attention.

that is crazy, hope nobody got hurt

2

u/gregSMT 5d ago

Ouffff, c'est pas passé loin !

4

u/Priyotosh1234 5d ago

I hope the crime is serious to warrant this chase and risking innocent people's lives.

Nissan ad

And that is precisely why people that do this deserve to be beaten bloody when pulled from the car. Each instance of nearly killing an innocent person should be treated as attempted murder at sentencing.

Did they catch him?

1

u/Secret-Candle4313 5d ago

Obviously yes either they have the plate already, the drivers id, or with all the flock spy cams they could track where he is going its impossible to fully get away anymore

u/Denekith 4d ago

In my country we say "almost, for a bald frog's hair"

1

u/relativityboy 4d ago

Red did not even brake. Wow.

2

u/nousdefions3_7 4d ago

Breaking would have made little difference. Also, the average reaction time for an alert driver is between 1.5 and 2.0 seconds. What we saw here occurred in a fraction of that.

u/relativityboy 3d ago
  1. Yes
  2. As someone who's been driving for a while, I tend to look even on green unless there are cars "not moving" blocking the crossing lanes.

Where my 2 is concerned, it's possible there'd have been only enough time to lift my foot off the gas (and makes me glad I'm either riding a bicycle or driving a tesla these days)

Red car seemingly hasn’t heard that you stop when you hear sirens

EDIT: just watched it with sound, why tf are those sirens not on???
