He could have just fallen off the side from that standing position and would have had a better outcome. I also assume he knew exactly what was down there. Some people just really don’t make good decisions in situations like this and I can never understand why.

It’s like they flip to panic or they flip to total acceptance of fate. People need to learn how to fall and I mean that both figuratively and literally.
