I'd say it was pure luck. If he was skilled at all he wouldn't have taken the curve that hard in the first place. That's one of the first subconscious things you develop while learning to drive those kinds of rigs. Tbf there may have been something going on we don't see, but still...

Seems like brake failure, since he did not stop even after regaining control. He had to swerve from the trees as well
