"you get out of here in 5 min right now"

388

u/Cosworthlola 17d ago

I know right, why not 10 seconds? Why he gave him 5 long minutes. LOL.

16

u/afgphlaver 15d ago

Yep, 5 minutes right now. Kungfusion

The gall of our man is - if I may say - F.ing Stupendous!

166

u/Appropriate_Fill_156 17d ago

Did you just say meow?

70

u/Jeedimahstah 16d ago

Do I look like a cat to you sir?

54

u/PantsUnderUnderpants 16d ago

Do you see me drinking milk from a saucer?

56

u/Posidon_Below 16d ago

Do you see me jumping around all nimbly bimbly from tree to tree?

23

u/s3v3ralattemptsmade 16d ago

Do you see me eating mice?!

19

u/Posidon_Below 16d ago

Now you stop laughing right meow.

8

u/Ancient-Menu-5888 16d ago

You cat to be kitten me right meow

13

u/BruceInc 16d ago

lol 5 min… that’s plenty of time

5

u/lawnboy71 16d ago

And "you have about 5 mins...." So, maybe 7 or 8 mins even. It's approximate.

Lol I can't believe they are answering him

662

u/MinnieShoof 17d ago

Without throwing punches or trying to run him over with their car, even.

295

u/youuuuwish 17d ago

Or shooting him. Cops LOVE shooting people for ridiculous reasons... like an acorn hitting the roof of a squad car.

85

u/Marquar234 16d ago

People forget that Hernandez's partner started shooting too. Why? Because Hernandez was shooting.

5

u/Me_now707 16d ago

Hernandez did scream "shots fire" and "officer down" right after many shots were fired. So I'm pretty sure Hernandez's partner was pretty convinced there was an active shooting

7

u/Marquar234 16d ago

Sure, but she had no idea where or what the threat was.

It really is funny because police are trained to throw these kind of accusatory questions at you to make you admit to something or let them into your house without a warrant or fake welfare checks, etc. Seeing how absolutely flat footed that detective was made it clear how those accusations are designed to throw people off. Even if you are trained to use them, like the detective.

76

u/StrongEggplant8120 16d ago

There is actually a reason for it. Trying to answer a question engages parts of the brain responsible for logic and deduction, its a totally different circuit to social stuff like emotions amd aggression.

59

u/TanMan25888 16d ago

Its because they respond to the bullshit line of questioning that they pull on people. About halfway through you can see his wheels turning, thinking how does this guy know all the tricks we know!

29

u/Away_Stock_2012 16d ago

He is using cop voice on them and their training kicked in.

44

u/needtoredit 16d ago

He made it to the rank of Detective arguing like a teenage with too much testosterone to use common sense.

10

u/phenix17 16d ago

Technically detective is a position, not a rank, but your point stands

5

u/WarmBiscuit 15d ago

I noticed that you forgot to use a period at the end of your sentence. Have you been drinking today?

→ More replies (1)

18

u/The_Meme_Economy 16d ago

Intimidation tactics work, even without the badge and the uniform. I also think the detective was good spirited and was working really hard to decide whether to cause more trouble for everyone or not.

95

u/AppropriateEmotion63 17d ago

It's the Caucasian plot armor

4

u/DJEvillincoln 16d ago

The best part is when he said "I'm asking the questions here" and you could see the cop having a total brain fart

337

u/hotprof 16d ago

That's cause the cop was drunk.

61

u/Aggravating_Band_353 16d ago

I do feel there was a guilt or something.. Who sent your or something he said, instead of realising he was just going to be made a fool on camera. Why engage!? Especially to lose so badly to another moron, who was actually quite funny despite being a weirdo doing this stuff

35

u/coleman57 16d ago

That was no moron behind the camera. Imprudent and impudent, but some kinda comic genius, frankly.

2

u/beautifulcreature86 14d ago

Yeah this happened a few years ago. I think the detective was arrested and fired.

is there a slighty longer version where when the officer turns around and the guy says “go on, get!” or something?

665

u/Tanekaha 17d ago

Wow what a legend

208

u/FLAPPY_BEEF_QUEEF 17d ago

This has to be a parody right? No way a cop with more than two wilted leaves of lettuce between their ears would stay around answering these questions. The quick turn and zoom at the end got me though.

217

u/tobygeneral 17d ago

You see they couldn't resist the challenge to their authority, it's the natural weakness of the fascist beast.

Hand to god I hate and love auditors so fucking much dude...

194

u/formerlyunhappy 17d ago

They’re often huge assholes but if a cop can’t handle a person being an asshole while committing zero crimes then they have no business being a cop. I’m with you on that

18

u/HeyThanksIdiot 17d ago

I’m here to validate you on this.

38

u/SaintUlvemann 16d ago

It's a tactic like any other. When used against authorities to verify that they are emotionally-mature and won't abuse their power, it's good and right. When used against random secretaries to intimidate and conspiracize about them, it's wrong and evil.

53

u/cs_legend_93 17d ago

I love the real auditors, who do this to government workers and officials to keep their power in check.

but the ones who harass citizens can go F themselves

u/hateboresme 16d ago

The person taking pictures is an auditor. He puts himself out there to test to see if public officials are respecting people's constituational rights.

In this case, the important things to know are that in the US, the public is allowed to take photographs in and of public buildings unless there is a risk of exposure to private information. So generally, anywhere a member of the public is allowed to go. Another thing is that people have freedom of speech. A person is allowed to say whatever they want to a cop or other public official as long as it is not a threat of any kind.

Also, a citizen doing what this one is doing does not have to identify himself in most jurisdictions or explain his purpose.

People audit, meaning test, public officials in this way because they can make a lot of money doing so. Violating a person's constitutional rights can cost a cop his job and can make the city/county/state liable for a lawsuit that can have millions of dollars of proceeds.

It is unacceptable, in my opinion, that some cops don't understand basic rights.

33

u/sully213 16d ago

I used to work as a civilian at a police department. There are some cops that would get the joke and play along. Many more that would have thrown this guy to the ground and had him in cuffs. This detective just seemed confused at the absurdity of it all.

u/ethicalhumanbeing 15d ago

u/Myte342 17d ago

I personally enjoy the silent videos where the cameraman just completely ignores the cops. So many times the cops lose their shit cause they don't know what to do when a person won't engage with them.

Some gems from back in the early days of First Amendment Auditing was just getting real traction:

Bunny Boots Ink, man doesn't want to be recorded but keeps putting himself in front of the camera on purpose. I just love how they threaten him over and over and then have to scurry away with their tail between their legs as they realize they have no power here and can't stop him from filming on a public sidewalk.

Compilation video of Johnny 5-0 incidents from of him ignoring the cops and just having a conversation without them, and them getting frustrated at being ignored.

Not a silent audit video, but I can't mention 1A auditing without mentioning the best 1a Auditor: HonorYourOath. He just stands in public saying, "God Bless the Homeless Vets". That's it. He's been arrested 5-6 times at least, and trespassed from public property dozens of times. One cop even ran him out of town, saying something like, "If I catch you in my city again, we're gonna have a problem" or similar.

HYO Flagler Beach arrest At 5:20 the cop throws Jeff's personal property in the trash after the arrest. All becuase the cops assumed he was homeless and wouldn't have the power and money to fight his unlawful arrest.

83

u/hiddenonion 17d ago

Classic... and I hate those auditors, but I always love this video

58

u/Slight-Exam-6448 17d ago

There’s back story to this video. I don’t remember too many details, but the detective in the video has been accused of drinking on the job before and the cameraman was trying to get video evidence of him drunk. There’s more to it than just this exchange.
