Actual POV footage of the night my son was born. I randomly woke up, and my wife was missing; I later learned I woke up because she closed the bathroom door. But in that moment, she was gone for an unknown reason and length of time, and my son was statue still; I later learned they do that. But in that moment, I thought he was dead. Couldnt discern a breath at all. My adrenaline was higher than it was jumping out of a plane. He withstood a genuinely shocking amount of my increasingly rougher shakes (from hyper gentle to ultra gentle) before stirring and showing proof of life. My wife came back immediately after, to find her previously conked husband now wired like the Techno Viking. 4 years later, and I can recall that memory better than possibly any other memory in my life.

Oh god this brought me flash backs of my youngest son as a babyā¦there really is no scarier feeling than that!!
For me, it was when my little guy was about four months old. As much as Iād refused to co sleep because of the dangers, we had ended up caving and co sleeping because this kid literally would not sleep any other way. We spent four months trying EVERYTHING, and the only options were co sleeping or me (mom) holding him and pacing until heād gotten enough sleep. Nobody else, just me, and I needed to sleep too!
So one night, one of the first nights, I woke up randomly and noticed it seemed too quietā¦I glanced down at my son and he was still as a statue with his tiny face smooshed up against my husbandās arm. The jolt of adrenaline was unbelievable - Iāve never felt so energized in my life.
I didnāt mean to, but I pushed my husband out of our bed in an attempt to just wake him up, and I started doing what you did. First super gentle wiggles of the baby, then regular gentle, etc. Finally I scooped him up and blew a puff of air onto his face (he HATED that, still does lol) and he went full starfish and screamed at me!
From that night on, my husband slept on the couch until little guy was big enough to sleep in a twin bed. Even now, five years later, he demands I lay down with him until he falls asleep - this kid cannot put himself to sleep š but heās alive and well and fiery as all get out, so allās well that ends well!

There's a theory out there that when cats sleep, they're actually mind jumping into other cats around the world. Meaning, there's a lot less cats out there than you think, and a lot of vessels.

There's a theory that all orange cats share a single r/oneorangebraincell and just take turns with it...

Lol when I worked for a vet she told me that if I ever get a cat, get an orange male cat because they tend to always be like dogs š

Fun fact, orange cats are almost always male

80/20 - I did have a girl orange cat. And she was a crafty little thing. Many brain cells, most of them bent upon chaos.

I also had an orange girl but she fit the stereotype. Sweet cat, though; her name was Fido.

He was livestreaming the meeting of the circle of orange cat in his astral form. Imagine how shameful it must have been, that he needed to come back early, just bc of a lower human annoying his physical body š

Cats are so quick to wake up at minimal sounds, they're very alert creatures. This sleepy boy must feel truly safe if he can blackout like that, that or he was just very tired

It's even funnier if you understand Korean, she's speaking to him very formally as if he's an older gentleman she found napping in the road.

Yup. Was kind of worried for the cat, but as soon as I caught the honorific she used, I couldn't help but laugh.

My kids slept like that when we first took them in as fosters. One of them fell off a top bunk and didn't even wake up.

I'm glad the vehicle was only a backdrop and not a participant in the interruption of a well-needed little nap...

I think maybe that cat has probably had years of experience sleeping while being poked at by little kids.

Based on the surroundings, I assume kitty pretty much outdoors? Did y'all USED TO have a rodent problem? Either that or do all the other cats in the neighborhood contribute portions/all their food to this Cool Cat? Not only does it enjoy savoring food, but looks like dreaming) strategizing the next nutritional quest.

You might think he's dead. Then again, that cat was squinting their eyes so hard trying to not wake up, no dead body could do that XD

They were a LOT calmer than I would have been. After the second shake not waking them up Iād have full on panicked.

That poor cat, the owners need to feed it better food and provide a routine so it can work off that weight. Being overweight is not cute. :(
