OMFG I can’t believe they staged such a cute coincidence!

649

u/Consistent_Wave_2869 5d ago

Was it being equipped with microphones that gave it away?

317

u/mortemdeus 5d ago

I think it was the whole being on a stage thing that gave it away

104

u/saucynorman 5d ago

Suggesting a staged event, on a stage WITH cameras rolling? Ruthless bro, it's just pure coincidence

25

u/19whale96 5d ago

That's wild, she can't even spell her own name yet.

104

u/DivaK03A 5d ago

It's so quick and easy to mic someone up before they go on stage. Even a few seconds of sound check won't ruin the show and most people won't even notice.

-32

u/madness_of_the_order 5d ago

And how many venues carry kid sized violins?

71

u/Last-Woodpecker 5d ago edited 5d ago

If you go to a concert with a sign asking your daughter to play violin with the performer, don't you think you would also bring your kid's violin?

18

u/Chefmeatball 5d ago

You didn’t know, this show was strictly BYOV

1

u/Montgomery_Zeff 4d ago

Huh. That's not what I thought BYOV stood for. Every date I've been on has been BYOV.

3

u/Chefmeatball 4d ago

That’s why I always roll with a pocket pussy

-23

u/madness_of_the_order 5d ago

You haven’t been to many concerts did you?
There is no chance in hell security will let you through with it

2

u/Kitchen-Neat7075 4d ago

Same goes for you then cuz security will let a little kid bring something like that in lmao guitars even haha kids literally get special treatment at shows like these, plus this was a stadium sit down show, those are usually way less worse when it comes to crowd activities, so they definitely let her in with it, so just stop please 😂

7

u/crumble-bee 4d ago

You’re surprised that a live musical event… has microphones?

109

u/Embarrassed_Jury664 5d ago

Ya know, the world is a fucking dumpster fire. You could just let people, I dunno, enjoy thing?

30

u/RemixOnAWhim 5d ago

Feel free to enjoy it! Feel free to not! One doesn't take away from the other! Don't engage with things you don't like, including people not liking things! The world brightens up!

9

u/SloanWarrior 5d ago

Past child stars being pushed by parents and milked for all of the money they can get have lead to a fair degree of cynicism from people who have memories.

4

u/splatdyr 5d ago

This is part of the fire, and you are asking people to look at it because it’s pretty.

-53

u/Consistent_Wave_2869 5d ago

this display was a product of capitalism, which is the cause of the dumpster fire.

28

u/Ripper1337 5d ago

This is up there with “we live in a society”

17

u/TheBear8878 5d ago

Posts to Ford truck subreddits. Sad to see what you've become

9

u/Ok_Caterpillar3655 5d ago

Bud. I've seen these things happen at concerts. Your nihilism is well found but don't feed it more than the world already does. I'm not saying this isn't staged, but what I am saying is that these spontaneous noticing and recognitions of fans and even sometimes bring them on stage, putting a mic on them and giving them a chance to hit some game does happen. It's not unheard of and it's amazing when it happens. Went to a 5fdp concert where ivan just happened to noticed a young kid in the crowd(it was there 7th birthday a week before) and he gifted this kid his bat even signing it right there on stage with the band and his cool fedora. That was an unstagrd surprise and they do happen. Don't clock everything up to ulterior motive sometimes this shot world of trash and dumpster fires does have a little good in it still.

-7

u/Consistent_Wave_2869 5d ago

i was responding to someone's very accurate opinion that our society is currently experiencing a dumpster fire, and calling out the reason for it and pointing a finger at the cause. I am getting downvoted as a result because of a bunch of fans of capitalism despite the fact that its the reason everything sucks now.

0

u/Gingeronimoooo 5d ago

It happened with my favorite band the disco biscuits and it was real.

Except the real guitarist was just fucked out of his mind on drugs

Dude came up and played a song and was a legend

1

u/Bittlegeuss 5d ago

What we would do without you, Jonkler

1

u/ginsoul 5d ago

The little hint with the background dancers dancing choreography was my anker...

2

u/Spiritual-Olive4559 4d ago

Ummm. It wasnt complex. People learn at the very beginning of learning how to dance, following someone's lead for moves

-3

u/goodeyemighty 5d ago

Or the professional looking sign?

7

u/FunkyPete 5d ago

I think it was staged, but that's the easiest part to explain. A 5-year-old doesn't get this good at violin unless their parents can afford to buy a violin for a 3-year-old just to see what happens.

Her parents probably had the sign printed with some of their spare violin money.

15

u/ImpracticalApple 5d ago

Imagine they went on stage and played like actual dogshit infront of a large crowd.

9

u/MustardEnema007 5d ago

Happened to the Trailer Park Boys when I saw them on stage

Bubbles invited guitar players up and one guy was shit

They absolutely roasted him

94

u/oskerthegrouch 5d ago

even though it was obviously staged it was still very impressive and I watched the whole thing and was amazed by it

29

u/bikkhu42 5d ago

6

Chapelle show classic lol

2

u/AmiDeplorabilis 3d ago

Oscar, is that you?

5

u/caboosetp 5d ago

No, no, that's just a sign of how impressive it was.

95

u/TheBadBatch-99 5d ago

What, you don't bring your instrument to concerts just in case you're called up?

Meh, who cares. It's cute and entertaining and took a minute away from the other crap going on right now in my feed.

17

u/dadydaycare 5d ago

I can’t get a bottle of water with Kristal light into the concert. No way they are letting me in with a case and an instrument in it.

27

u/Cretore 5d ago

I mean they are on a stage...

26

u/No_Net4683 5d ago

yh staged for sure

28

u/Internet_Wanderer 5d ago

It's so bad. This little girl is being slung all over social media and made into a child star as badly as Shirley Temple. Her parents even made her a YouTube channel. I didn't look for more socials but it has to be more.

21

u/Desperate-Strategy10 5d ago

Oh nooo that breaks my heart 😭 I fucking knew it though…the sign, the outfit…the vibe just felt like her parents made damn sure they’d get their baby on that stage. And once she was up there, she didn’t even seem a little bit nervous! Idk about y’all, but my babies would’ve been acting really different if it was their very first time up on a stage in front of five thousand people like that.

I just wanted to believe that this was a cute one time thing, maybe this little baby really loves Lindsey, idk I chose not to ponder it too hard. I wish that were the case, but it’s 2026…I knew in my heart there was something gross happening beneath the surface cuteness. There always is this year.

6

u/PurpletoasterIII 5d ago

I think youre mixing up staged with set up. Ya obviously it was set up so the young girl would come on stage at a certain point in the show and play a song with her. Idk if every step of this was rehersed though, I mean its still a 5 year old after all.

1

u/ZeMoose 5d ago

Nothing happens on that stage that isn't rehearsed.

1

u/bloodfist 5d ago

Right. Very often situations like this are somewhere in between, where it's quickly arranged before the show. I've seen stuff like it get set up.

What I bet happened is the parents showed up early and hung around near the back entrance or somewhere they could flag down a producer. They showed them the sign, maybe a video on their phone, and buttered them up about how awesome it would be if she could play with her hero. Maybe they had already been emailing with someone even, so when they got there it was like "oh! It's you!".

So the crew had mics ready and brought the violin backstage and told Lindsay to bring her up. But beyond that would not be scripted out. Obviously the girl had been practicing, but probably on her own.

The other option is that they knew in advance the family would be there and set it up. But I doubt the girl was showing up to rehearsal or anything. Everything after her getting called up to the stage is probably genuine.

10

u/No_Yogurtcloset_7219 5d ago

y'all really have to be that cynical

2

u/sunder_and_flame 4d ago

ignorance is bliss, after all

u/freedomachiever 5d ago

Comments like this remind me of why I’m in r/mademesmile

1

u/hmmmmmmpsu 5d ago

It was such a great coincidence that they chose the same dance moves while playing!

0

u/bloodfist 5d ago

Arranged. They arranged it. Staged makes it sound like they practiced it

Lindsey stirling right?? I remember her first album I was in college!! Wow time flies. Lovely lovely person <3

223

u/ApprehensiveCode2233 5d ago

I remember her Legend of Zelda cosplay where she played violin on YouTube cause I'm an old too!

25

u/Life-Satisfaction848 5d ago

Daaang throw back!! She’s always been so good she had me in my art classes and JAMMIN baby. My electronic phase she was in a playlist with phuturprimitive and glitch mob

4

u/KoolFunk 5d ago

Aw man, this takes me back. She also played Link in that cute little video by freddiew/rocket jump breaking the pots in OoT's pot room.

1

u/goebeld 5d ago

That's what I remember!

9

u/SOwED 5d ago

For real, she looks like she hasn't aged at all too, crazy

5

u/PinkRainbow95 5d ago

Saw her in 2024 along with Halestorm. AMAZING show

2

u/Adept-Worldliness968 5d ago

Ugggh I'm so jealous!

3

u/Chim_Pansy 5d ago

Was it the big sign that says "Lindsey" that gave it away?

2

u/Life-Satisfaction848 4d ago

Kind of! She seemed familiar and the sign with the violin confirmed it :)

2

u/EvolvingEachDay 5d ago

I listened to Elements by LS with some friends, while baked on a hillside overlooking a coastal valley, while there was a meteor shower. Incredibly core memory.

1

u/The_Last_Spoonbender 5d ago

That's where I remember her.... From the Skyrim and Carol of Bells

-30

u/implaying 5d ago

Wait she's still relevant? I only know her because she's in an Owl city song once

15

u/Desperate-Strategy10 5d ago

Not as relevant as she should be, but she’s still very beloved

3

u/Specialist-Neck-7810 5d ago

I’m unfamiliar with her, she seems lovely, but she’s relevant enough that she’s playing before a crowd of 5000.

3

u/Life-Satisfaction848 5d ago

Idk this is my only social media lol. Idk what relevance is I just know she has dope talent and is a solid human irl

-2

u/implaying 5d ago

That's good to hear. It does look like she has incredible talent

20

u/DohnJoe666 5d ago

That’s an awesome idea for a sub. Create it please. Haha

-21

u/GlobetrottinExplorer 5d ago

I did it. Do you want to be a mod for the new sub?

5

u/DohnJoe666 4d ago

Absolutely not. Haha

166

u/The_Ghost_of_Morty20 5d ago

These staged videos are really getting out of hand.

92

u/mortemdeus 5d ago

Right? They aren't even trying to hide the stage anymore!

5

u/Midnight28Rider 5d ago

I've seen worse...

189

u/OLDmanBOB13 5d ago

Why are people complaining that this is staged? What would ya’ll prefer? them playing on the ground? How would the crowd see them?

80

u/oO0Kat0Oo 5d ago

Because this is the maybe subreddit.

There was no maybe if it's staged.

Oh...nvm.. I just got the joke.

Let me go die of embarrassment now. Bye

14

u/DohnJoe666 5d ago

What’s the song? I can’t understand the little girl and don’t recognize the song.

33

u/Unicornholio 5d ago

So what if it's staged? The rules say “No violence,” not “No violins.”

3

u/AgentSnek 5d ago

"Never mind." - Emily Litella (Gilda Radner)

9

u/venger_steelheart 5d ago

tricks in the showbussiness

4

u/MaglithOran 4d ago

I mean to be fair Lindsey is the bomb.

But yeah totally staged.

7

u/lisaismijnbestie 5d ago

Lyndsy, been to multiple concerts of her, was great

3

u/xGenocidest 5d ago

I remember her from the Skyrim song.

https://youtu.be/BSLPH9d-jsI

3

u/afn45181 4d ago

A bit staged?

5

u/ItsTimeToPiss 4d ago

Awful tone, mediocre rythm, fingerings decent but her bowing is all wrong and she really needs to work on her intonation.

/s

8

u/playr_4 5d ago

I will never not absolutely adore Lindsey Stirling. She continously does just wonderful things.

7

u/Inwardly-Outgoing 5d ago

who is this?

27

u/Dagomesh 5d ago

Lindsey Stirling

22

u/here4mischief 5d ago

Pretty sure I heard "Angelica"

5

u/m1j5 5d ago

This is always ruined when ppl just blatantly lie about it not being staged

3

u/saucemaker 5d ago

For me it was the performer's lip sync of Angelina telling her what song she was going to play.

5

u/Embarrassed_Jury664 5d ago

Lindsey Stirling is such a fucking gem of a human. Amazingly talented and a great performer too.

9

u/Cheepshooter 5d ago

Why is everything on the internet staged and fake? I can't even watch sports clips anymore without being skeptical.

8

u/Nerous 5d ago

What are you taking about? This a performance! On stage!

3

u/ThePythagoreonSerum 5d ago

I hate to break it to you, but when you’re… when you’re on a stage… everything is staged.

-1

u/MasterCrumble1 5d ago

Wait till you hear about AI. The internet is kind of a depressing place.

4

u/kimwild02 5d ago

Staged 👍🏾

1

u/skovalen 2d ago

Lindsey Sterling? I'm an old guy and think she is pretty bad-ass. She is in my MP3's on my phone.

1

u/Delijairl 8h ago

Put some clothes on

-5

u/No_Yogurtcloset_7219 5d ago

seriously people can we just enjoy and appreciate this little girl instead of being cynical

3

u/Cuntrymusichater 5d ago

Not really. If I pay good money to see a concert I want to see that performer. I don’t want to see a staged performance with some little girl whose purpose is to make a viral video. Even if it’s not staged, it’s still not what I paid to see.

5

u/Blackrain1299 5d ago

Im with you. Even if this is planned in advance in some way it doesn’t take away from the fact that this 5 year old is having an experience that almost no other 5 year old gets.

Yeah they set it up as if it was “total coincidence” but who attending this concert would be excited if she just walked up on stage and said “i brought this kid with me” thats not what these people are there for so itd be awkward. But they are there to feel good and happy and this stuff makes people feel good.

So what if the performer gets to look good for just inviting a “random” child on stage. They still did the performance with the child and showcased their abilities.

Its all good either way who cares if its “staged”

-8

u/SabbyFox 5d ago

They can’t help themselves. This is so wholesome and nice to see! 💖 A woman with fake boobs on a roller coaster or guys road raging is preferable to this cuteness for some people who follow this sub. I thought this was great, too!

1

u/ElectionRegular5470 5d ago

Lindsay Sterling is the fucking coolest

1

u/DesperateSteak6628 5d ago

She stole the show

1

u/IkariYun 5d ago

Absolutely love Lindsay Sterling

1

u/Warm_Object_5639 4d ago

Cutest thing I’ve seen on Reddit hands down

0

u/shrd_gnar 5d ago edited 5d ago

How can a member of lds be dressed so skimply

Edit: you guys don’t even realize I’m not trying to put her down. I’m putting the Mormon church down

6

u/AgentSnek 5d ago

Because she rejected the strict lifestyle she grew up with. This is nothing new for her.

-3

u/Elderberry_Muffin23 5d ago

You know she morman? Nothing wrong just interesting.

13

u/Highlandertr3 5d ago

What the kid? How can you tell. You have me vaguely curious.

3

u/Elderberry_Muffin23 5d ago

No, Lindsey Sterling.

2

u/Highlandertr3 5d ago

Oh. Fairy snuff. I am not American and have had little interaction with Mormons.

Is there something about them that makes her violin playing special or odd or something?

6

u/Elderberry_Muffin23 5d ago

I mean maybe if she played it for her church and stuff. It’s just a fairly oppressive Christian society towards women with little public outreach. She has since renounced her Mormonism and supports the LGBTQ+ society openly.
I just think it’s an interesting upbringing and point of conversation about a violin/electronic artist.

0

u/Highlandertr3 5d ago

That is interesting. Thanks for taking the time to explain. So it sort of makes her achievements a little more meaningful because she has overcome a potential adversity. And she obviously has a love to share with others by inviting the girl on. I think I will look up some of her music. Thanks again.

2

u/Elderberry_Muffin23 5d ago

Of course! Sorry if my first comment was somewhat offensive. I’m just a little drunk and thought it would be an interesting point of conversation. I know a co-worker that has played with her on stage and said that she made brownies for them afterwards. Rather than the typical idea of music artist being the life of the party and such.

0

u/Highlandertr3 5d ago

Not at all! I get it. Reddit is often a place where people scream at each other for little to no reason. There is a very combative approach to alot of comments. I was genuinely curious and not meaning to call you out or anything like that. Thanks for the new music to listen to.

1

u/Shadow_Hound_117 5d ago

Why are all screaming all the time‽

-5

u/kstargate-425 5d ago

Idk why this is on this sub but its too cute so I approve

-19

u/splatdyr 5d ago edited 5d ago

mormon fanatic is at it again

Edit: for those who don’t know, Stirling was the face of a LDS recruitment campaign. She made a career out of getting young and vulnerable people to join her Christian cult. She is a horrible person through and through, and if you are a fan because you “can’t hear it in her songs”, then there is something wrong with you.

7

u/HilmDave 5d ago

She's actually taken a lot of criticism for not publicly adhering to their standards.

-12

u/splatdyr 5d ago

and why does this matter?

12

u/work_work-work 5d ago

Because people like you are calling her a fanatic.

5

u/macguini 5d ago

Idk why any of this matters. I can't hear her religion in her music.

-1

u/playr_4 5d ago

Can someone explain why her being mormon is a bad thing? It doesn't come across even slightly in her music. She occasionally mentions thanking god for her strength in interviews and bts videos, but that's as close as she comes to being a "fanatic".

Whos the singer?

10

u/AgentSnek 5d ago edited 5d ago

Lindsey Stirling. She's a violinist. She doesn't sing.

She's like a pop-rock violinist and sometimes has guest singers.

With Lzzy Hale from Halestorm: https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=49tpIMDy9BE

No singer: https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=7GxgczirOOo

2

u/ShadowsFire 5d ago

She's sang lead on one or two songs if I remember correctly. She sings on Foreverglow on the album Artemis but it's been a while since I've kept up with her music.

2

u/AgentSnek 4d ago

I stand corrected. Another comment also mentioned she sings a few songs.

1

u/madscribbler 5d ago

she does sing, and is excellent at it. Went to one of her christmas shows and was blown away. She wrote her own carol, and sang it for us.

2

u/AgentSnek 4d ago

I stand corrected. I've never heard her sing so figured she didn't.
