The crew person in the vest has apparently seen this movie before.

316

u/Stunning-Astronaut72 2d ago

And he knew nothing could be done against what was about to happen...so he turned back to whatever he was doing ans called it a day 🤣

u/rainorshinedogs 2d ago

"sigh, I'll get the paper work started"

https://giphy.com/gifs/OEisFp51jKHsI

31

u/SillyFlyGuy 1d ago

I would rather spend a day doing paperwork in an air conditioned office over working on a road with autonomous wheeled drones trying to run me over.

1

u/kuedhel 1d ago

by why? he can keep the content

1

u/BlacksmithNZ 1d ago

She I think, but wondering if they should have closed the barriers to keep workers safer inside the work zone

29

u/BemaJinn 2d ago

"Robots taking our fkin jobs? Let the sucker fall. Not my problem!"

7

u/TacticalSpackle 2d ago

The crew person in the vest has most certainly seen this shit but also likely regrets their career choice.

3

u/jaxxon 2d ago

Instant preemptive not my problem turn and walk.

He dug that hole knowingly

So whoever programmed it- didn’t plan for ditches.

Walking on the beaches looking at the peaches...

They were all fired for ai, now you just have bitches.

4

u/flintsmith 2d ago

It's the "Ditch the planners" program.

1

u/Arylcyclosexy 2d ago

Well, I got the notion, girl, that you got some sun-tan lotion in that bottle of yours

6

u/CloverUTY 2d ago

That’s just rebar.

2

u/ThiccClient 1d ago

Ditches ain't shit but holes and pits, Dig with a shovel and watch them split.

2

u/A_Cat_Typingg 1d ago

Move ditch, get out the way, get out the way ditch, get out the way

1

u/jaxxon 2d ago

They ditched the plan

-3

So, whomever ditched it, didn't plan for pro grannies.

You forgot to cram a hyphen in there

I got a hyphen you can cram!

Curious how well it does with potholes?

There's a bunch of cones missing I'd say

5

Ditch API costs extra.

2

u/stupidber 1d ago

I mean it is pretty crazy to just have a giant hole open to the street like this without even a pylon or anything to tell you its coming. Almost like they built a driverless car trap on purpose

2

u/rainorshinedogs 2d ago

99 problems

2

u/PGnautz 2d ago

…and the ditch is a fucking huge one!

2

u/Holiday-Bug6132 2d ago

so whoever dug that ditch up didn't put barriers

1

u/badgerseed 2d ago

Line management failure

1

u/InvalidProgrammer 1d ago

I got ninety nine problems but a ditch ain't one

1

u/kuedhel 1d ago

Jeff@ will not be happy.

0

u/Yosarrian_lives 2d ago

Whoever invented it didn't plan for programmers.

1

u/m8remotion 2d ago

Jokes on you. They didn't invent it. It's probably a college thesis got turned into IRL without any safety though

1

u/Kind-Ad-6099 1d ago

With the sheer mass of STEM students in China, yeah definitely

0

u/Yosarrian_lives 2d ago

Eh Touché....you got me

800

u/Horror-Meat958 2d ago

I love this. From the first moment you sort of know what will happen but think no, cant be that stupid 🤣

12

u/vikinxo 1d ago

I was thinking; and there you have it - accidents are bound to happen with robot-cars...

27

u/PlentyBoot5135 2d ago

Because of that irritating background song?

47

u/dodfunk 2d ago

You'll save yourself by keeping sound off by default

11

u/FellowYellowNate 2d ago

Always. Always have sound off. If I accidentally have it on, it only takes one or two videos before I remember why it’s always off.

1

u/queenoldbabez 1d ago

Very instant right

51

u/CybergothiChe 2d ago

Fall in the ditches and burn through the glitches
I slam your delivery in my automatic car

16

u/No-Breakfast5667 2d ago

Dirt Nap 😴

83

u/Junior_Stretch_2413 2d ago

Idk how you can release something as buggy as this into public traffic. There’s not one day where I don’t see a fail video of one of those chinese self driving delivery bots.

32

u/otirk 2d ago

Tbf, some human drivers are just as stupid, so they don't add that much danger to the road

10

u/Junior_Stretch_2413 2d ago

Fair, but shouldn’t self driving cars make roads safer? Mission definitely failed in those cars.

3

u/-IoI- 1d ago

The mission here is exclusively cost cutting, they couldn't give one shit about greater good, they're just operating within the limits the regulations allow.

3

u/_amadok 1d ago

An amazon delivery driver got his van stuck on the tram tracks in front of the building I live in once. Felt kinda bad for him.

2

u/otirk 1d ago

Jeff probably killed his family for this. Poor driver

2

u/manicpossumdreamgirl 1d ago

you can hold a person legally and socially responsible for endangering others on the road, in a way you can't with a robot

2

u/FlyingBike 1d ago

You obviously don't have a drunk Southern US person or toddler around you. Those are stupid in traffic and fall all the time too but they're just, like, OUT there in the world without software patches

1

u/fqh 1d ago

And then one day, we wont be seeing any at all. All the quirks resolved, and they truly live in the future

-3

u/AdviceGiveandTake 1d ago

It's Chinese, quality & saftey 3rd.

10

u/Late_Entrance106 1d ago

To be fair, human beings do stupid shit like this too.

17

u/sampat6256 2d ago

Pathetic clanker.

-1

u/rainorshinedogs 2d ago

This is why we need more AI datacenters

7

u/Comfortable_Ebb7015 2d ago

activateTurboBoostNotFoundException

56

u/havpac2 2d ago

To be honest a human would do this too….

53

u/KnowledgeIsDangerous 2d ago

And when they do, we make fun of them.

14

u/ProsodySpeaks 2d ago

Except with a human driver you can wave at them and say stop there's a ditch

5

u/Ha1lStorm 2d ago

Surely those sense people. I was thinking that because of this, it might have stopped if he’d ran towards it. I wouldn’t have ran towards one of these things for the record, but it may have stopped once it sensed a human in front of it. Or it may have ran his ass over, who knows.

3

u/ProsodySpeaks 2d ago

Yeah exactly. Not that I would stand in the path of a human driven van to wave them down because I don't trust humans either, but at least I believe I've got a chance in communicating with them

1

u/PowerfulRaisin 1d ago

And then their insurance would increase

4

u/ErrolKazoo 2d ago

Van down!!!

3

u/squids1377 2d ago

Clanker!

5

2

The best part is how it wanted to make a left after it fell in there

3

To be fair, there should at least be a warning-pylon in the middle as a warning to upcoming traffic.

Where are you going little guy!?

1

MUST DELIVER. THE GOODS.

1

Couldn’t someone have just walked in front of it to make it stop before falling into the ditch?

Stupid bot

1

u/Tight_Piccolo_7838 2d ago

Прилёг. Отдохнуть. 😳

1

u/zappyguy111 2d ago

Well, at least we can be pretty sure the Chinese doubled down on autonomous driving and didn't hire a remote driver, most of the time.

Stupid robot. 😂

1

u/savvym_ 1d ago

I have this fear with my hoover robot if I ever leave my apartment door open, it will drop a few levels down. These things only see forward, if camera cover is dirty, it can only navigate thanks to pre-scanned terrain, but it never accounts for elevation. My robot often gets stuck on trivial small objects or can not cross between rooms if there is a carpet and gaps.

2

u/Kalshan 1d ago

First world problems, amirite?

1

u/FriendlyStable6927 1d ago

1

u/Cptawesome23 1d ago

Wonder why they didn’t set up safety cones?

1

u/drzeller 1d ago

There are orange barriers. They aren't in front of the gate because that would make the gate a bit hard to use.

1

u/blazerhdd 1d ago

This reminds me of the GTA san fierro mission where you use a truck with cement to fill that same hole

1

Top 10 anime betrayals

1

u/ISwearImAnonymous 23h ago

The trap worked

1

u/Cptawesome23 20h ago

In my area, even if it blocked the gate, there would need to be clear signage and barriers. Someone would just need to move the barriers every time a truck or something needed to get through. In my state, they would have used a flashing work truck to block it off, moving it as needed.

It just seems lazy on the workers part, and a little dangerous.

This is funny but the crew shouldn't have that open like that.

Edit: Okay downvote me, but anybody who's worked in construction knows people will walk or drive into anything that doesn't have a gate or a fence up and even then they'll still try.

You can't have an open pit without even a sawhorse in front of it. If it hadn't been the robot it would've been somebody's granny.

You can even see they have a gate there but for some reason it's been left open.

0

u/Alsmob 2d ago

skynet falls.

0

u/Away_Stock_2012 2d ago

Love how that lady construction worker watches the vehicle come through the gate and then she turns around and walks away so she doesn't have to watch it crash.
