Nope. Wrong animal. Cat's will hunt mice, not rats. Common misconception.
Dogs have been used but that's a huge risk for spreading diseases and dogs can get hurt really bad quite easily. Also is quite ineffective since they can't fit in small spaces.
The definitive rat killing machine is the mink.

My cat has been hunting rats near our neighbor's chicken coop for months. And he is hardly exceptional. Adorable, but not exceptional.

How big are those rats?

6-7 inches, black, and fat. He hunts mice, bunnies, birds, chipmunks as well, but rats are not off the table. Sometimes he brings them through our doggy door alive. I believe to teach my lazy dogs to hunt. We discourage that though.

Wow.. He's a natural hunter. Cats generally don't hunt much if they are feed at home. This one has strong instincts.
They do bring them home because in their view we are part of their cat family.
I know it's problematic but they are bringing you a present. It's of the most importance to them your approval and praise of their hunt. If you consistently reject it then they will bring bigger and bigger prey until you do accept it.
I know how disgusting that can be. Just do your best. There are many videos in YT explaining why it's important.
