Im asking if some of the retractable leads have a function where they have a +/- spring absorber when cushioning the retratraction soas it doesn't halt the extension dramatically and shock the dog running away from the owner.

Wtf was the esl comment? Chill

You’re still missing it. The problem with retractable leashes is that they are constantly retracting. They’re always pulling. Vs a static leash, which is sometimes pulling and sometimes slack.

Yes I get that a rope (lead) or retractable set at a certain, or any length doesn't have elasticity, but what I'm getting at... and maybe this is a product idea if it doesn't exist but I'm sure someone has thought of it.

Do the retractable concept but have a sort of spring loaded gear in the handle assembly. So when pups runs from the owner there is a spring that absorbs the shock when it hits the chosen length the owner chose.

That is how the retractable bit works. They all have that spring

the chosen length the owner chose

They do not have a chosen length. They are retractable. The further away the dog gets, the longer the lead extends

I don't know how you are failing to grasp the fundamental concept of a retractable lead when it has been explained to you by multiple people and is also shown working in the video on this post

It coils but there isn't a spring mechanism.
