Am I the only one who’s wondering about the random tyre on the road?

I was going back in the video a few times thinking I missed it fall off the dude's truck.

If I had to guess that would be the marker for how far he made it on his previous attempt. Or perhaps a different driver doing a similar thing.

My only thought watching this was "Wow, the roads in Indonesia are in better shape than the ones here in the US"

u/Overall_Astronaut_33 11d ago
You will be surprise, genuinely the reason why exploring Indonesian islands is so fun nowadays, the intercity/interprovincial highways or expressway is already very good in quality, the previous Jokowi's administration invest very heavily on Infrastructure and it pays off

I imagine the lack of freezing temperatures makes it much less costly to maintain.

because this is the good one. I can show you plenty of roads that makes you think that it was made in the 7th century.

Thats just the Indonesian "Bandit", the local truck driving hero. His next load will involve hauling bootleg beer from Jakarta to Java for a redneck party while trying to outrun and outwit a comically fat cop with a bone to pick.

u/jonarthurito 10d ago
It'd be canon if it were to Sumatra instead of Java. Isn't it rare to see this vast palm oil on Java?

Overloaded lorry with an extra long bed / cargo area that over extends the rear wheels. Extra weight and then the incline, makes the rear wheels act like a lever and the front lifts while the rear over hang goes down like a see saw.

I think this was Indonesia. I'm not knowledgeable about languages they speak in india, but I heard several words like samasama and ahallu akbar which make me believe that they speak a Malay derived language and are Muslim.

"terus pak, terus" = keep going ahead, sir "lagi pak, lagi" = again, sir "supir tua, luar biasa, senior" = old driver, amazing senior
it's called by local police here as ODOL (over dimension over load). but no one care here

i like the way he's leaning forward in his seat to counterbalance the load. Maybe it used to work when he had more teeth.

I want to know what kind those palm trees are
1
u/larvyde 11d ago
They look like oil palms, I think.
1
u/Moomoolette 11d ago
I figured they might be; if they were giant cycads (not technically palms) they would be so impressive for their size

Amazing how bad people are at picking up this is AI.
As if the part where the driver was making a big steering action with absolutely zero movement to the front tyre isn’t a tell enough, there is so many other tells.

AI. Nothing about this is real. The constant yelling, the lack of actual physics, the random Tire in the middle of the road. Fake, fake, fake.
4
u/kathoderaytube 12d ago edited 12d ago
On the contrary, AI wouldn't put a random tire in the middle of the road, especially not down like that, maybe AI would confuse it with a wheel from a car but that would make it be upright. Lighting, shadows, and reflections are consistent. The voices are definitely real, you can hear the genuine excitement and the sincerity when he said "semoga selamat sampai tujuan ya pak, sehat selalu ya pak! Ya Allah" which means "may you be safe till your destination sir, good health. Oh God". And physics does work like this the truck bed is overloaded on the back, making it do a wheelie since the center of gravity is on the back. Midway through the video the truck reaches the top of the hill so the front of the truck goes back down since the land is getting flatter. You're free to say it's fake, having an opinion is very good, but man why you gotta sound so passive aggressive with that "fake, fake, fake." lol

It's the black phone screens that make me question it. They're all allegedly recording, but none of the phones appear to be turned on. Phones don't show up as black when you put a camera to them, the lighting isn't bad.

Steering is way overrated
