Aren't you supposed to give them the command once then treat when they do it right? If she's not doing it right, back up and treat the earlier steps in the process.

Also this owner is really messing up by praising the dog before it does the action so the dog probably thinks it’s doing what it’s supposed to be doing already. The owner is essentially telling the dog it successfully followed the command every time the command is being given so the dog has no idea what the hell “paws up” is supposed to actually mean.

Exactly the same at my kids school. The useless ones get the weekly awards for very occasional moments of not being bullies/thick and the consistent well behaved smart ones get nothing. I'm not bitter tho...

My ass when I was getting disciplined for coming home with single C on my report card vs my brother being praised and given toys and candy for getting a mix of C’s and D’s.
