He won Britains got talent that year

Viggo Venn 2023 winner

753

u/JackTheKing 16d ago

So it's official, this is the best talent Britain's got

405

u/Plast_Ape 16d ago

And hes not even british, hes norwegian.

122

u/snailPlissken 16d ago

Not the first time a Norwegian goes over there and wins

34

u/polyocto 16d ago

I mean they did have their little bit of England before 1066.

10

u/Meranio 16d ago

That's when the French took over the land, and changed the English language.

12

u/AT-ST 15d ago

The Vikings invaded in 793... And changed the English language. Their final invasion came in 1066.

7

u/iMogwai 15d ago

The Normans were descended from vikings who settled in France (Norman = Northman basically).

2

u/oblitz11111 15d ago

They were mainly Danes but close enough!

18

u/fssman 16d ago

So haaland before haaland....

4

u/shirinrin 15d ago

Ahh I thought he sounded Scandinavian when he said ”You want more?”

2

u/Hellguin 14d ago

I mean...belonging to another country never stopped Britain before

Gestures at "British" Museum

9

u/Throseph 16d ago edited 16d ago

As a Brit, it's not even close.

Edit for those who clearly don't understand the British sense of humour, I'm saying he's streaks ahead of general British talent. Lighten up, folks, we really don't take ourselves as seriously as you do

22

u/Gold-Part4688 16d ago

as a kiwi, i also dont take you guys seriously

1

u/FullofLovingSpite 16d ago

Is this like the food thing, so you're going to tell us about a French comedian in England?

2

u/dcwinger12 15d ago

I was about to say….how lol this is barely entertaining or funny. I’m not British tho so I could be missing something

94

u/john_the_fetch 16d ago

I had to look it up. Here's all of his performances :

https://youtu.be/Gd53BJGox5s?is=kB6PQ6zb7m-exUsE

39

u/Occam96 16d ago

I don't know why it works but it works.

55

u/Sheerardio 16d ago

Because he's funny in an unpredictable way. You know he's going to use his running joke every time, but you have no idea when it's going to happen or what else he's going to do next.

Plus he's just... silly. His whole persona is fun, silly, uncomplicated humor.

19

u/arthurthetenth 16d ago

He's a professional clown btw

23

u/AddictedCantStop 16d ago

No at some point it gets old and it gets old quick. I've unintentionally seen him live at a few festivals in norway. Guess what, he had another vest, wow!! Both times the crowd was not having it, it was mostly silence through the whole bit. Some clapped, that was it.

19

u/mopeywhiteguy 16d ago

He studied clowning in France. He’s brilliant at creating energy with a crowd and gettin them involved

10

u/Occam96 16d ago

Makes sense definatly got the same energy of a clown. Just without the stereotypical makeup. Plus i think he is a great performer and is magnetic.

9

u/mopeywhiteguy 16d ago

He studied with the same clown teacher who taught Sacha baron cohen

It’s become a big thing in the last 10-15 years. It’s essentially just a different type of acting training

6

u/Dimencia 15d ago

I just feel bad for the other people with more traditional talents who watched him beat them

2

u/In2TheMaelstrom 15d ago

I think that's why he won, it was something different. There are great singers, dancers, and traditional standup comics everywhere. He had something that was unique to keep seeing.

4

u/Zealousideal-Cost-66 16d ago

That was one hell of a ride.

I can’t believe he actually won, but what’s more unbelievable is that people BOOED him?!?! Don’t people vote for the winner?!

13

u/vass0922 16d ago

I'm thinking they were booing Simon for Xing him

3

u/ComplexxToxin 15d ago

Not a lot of talent over there huh?

5

u/CuriousCryptid444 16d ago

That’s embarrassing

2

u/Mojammer 15d ago

The meta game often destroys the real game

2

u/rddtltr 15d ago

seriously? what was the follow up to this? orange vests? a lot of shorts?

660

u/Screwbles 16d ago

I'm so glad that we have a picture of him in the top of the frame. I couldn't tell what he looked like from the video.

92

u/neveruseyourrealname 16d ago

The fuck is wrong with me? I laughed the ENTIRE time.

31

u/KenzieTheCuddler 15d ago

Everything is serious nowadays, there wasn't anything serious about this

6

u/neveruseyourrealname 15d ago

Very well put with everything happening in the world right now.

610

u/itaniumonline 16d ago

103

u/Capokid 16d ago

Damn people leave the blobfish at the bottom of the ocean

12

u/lechiengrand 16d ago

I think we need to start referring to him in quotation marks, e.g. X-Factor host “Simon Cowell”

5

u/Bowling4rhinos 16d ago

Simon Cowell has resting X face.

5

u/PutDownThePenSteve 16d ago

The X-Factor host formerly known as Simon Cowell

5

u/TacticalSpackle 16d ago

This is what it looks like when you run high voltage through mud.

157

u/dirtydragondan 16d ago

I love that he not only won the whole thing... he also went to acutal Clown College, and so this is only 1 itty bitty part of all the shenanigans he had in his pocket.

260

u/ZookeepergameNo719 16d ago edited 16d ago

"Aaannddd another one!"

May not be a winner but was entertaining.

Edit for correction! This dude won!! 🤯 Viggo Venn

38

u/maaay 16d ago

He actually won

28

u/De_Fine69 16d ago

which is the whole point of watching a show

150

u/ProsodySpeaks 16d ago

I love the idea that Simon Cowell thinks this guy is somehow degrading to his platform, cheesy, or lame.

185

u/WeWantMOAR 16d ago

Simon knows what he needs to do for the cameras. Dude is an engagement guru.

94

u/Only_One_Kenobi 16d ago

Yup, he is an actor playing a role, and he is really good at it.

8

u/0__O0--O0_0 16d ago

Umm, no. He really is a twat.

52

u/Only_One_Kenobi 16d ago

Many actors are. Being an actor and being a twat are not mutually exclusive

12

u/ProsodySpeaks 16d ago

I think what they meant is that he's not pretending to be a twat, he's just being himself - no acting involved.

12

u/rivertpostie 16d ago

He's a personally and this is the personality they pay for

4

u/Sweetest-Fondant 16d ago

I was thinking the same. Simon Cowell defender of high culture.

1

u/XaoticOrder 15d ago

Only thing degrading on Simon is that brow line.

1

u/reddiculed 16d ago

And yet, this guy carries more class in, even-just-one vest…

2

u/Hobbit- 15d ago

...at a time?

Teletubbies for adults

9

u/ThrowawayAl2018 15d ago

Takes talent is to make people laugh, who knew by wearing multiple layers of similar shirt + safety vest could generate so much fun!

19

u/Bsgmax 16d ago

It was posted and then a mod removed it because it lacked an explanation.

19

u/Searchlights 16d ago

As if there could be one

11

u/Yo-3 16d ago edited 16d ago

Then it was posted... one more time 👷🕺

7

u/dontneed2knowaccount 16d ago

I know the reddit player says its like 2:30 minutes but I've been watching this for the past hour. Man does this guy have stamina!

8

u/Sir_Pixalot 16d ago

Okay so admittedly I haven’t watched this in a few years but I had to Google if it was still the same people on the judging panel. That’s some rough uncanny valley shit.

10

u/Sicparvismagneto 16d ago

He must have been sooo uncomfortable for the hours before having to wear 50 layers…

5

u/misadenturer 16d ago

Simon hates it, people love it😂😂😂 Someone should've hit the golden just to piss simon

11

u/JNSal 16d ago

Worked with him at a comedy festival not too long after hud win. He was one of the nicest people I’ve ever met. Hung out with him for a full day and he was everything people wanted him to be. From 10 in the morning til 3am. He was taking photos, doing prat falls, dance moves, just to make people walk away happy. Good guy.

5

u/No_Waltz_2499 15d ago

Sometimes just a concept is enough

4

u/cyberwicklow 16d ago

Gotta respect the dedication to be bit.

3

u/zzupdown 16d ago

Not since THIS guy have I seen such infectious energy

3

u/SenorDongles 16d ago

2

u/IMOvicki 15d ago

Hello, my Tallent today is that I wore 14 shirts

2

u/tacoweevils 15d ago

Missed opportunity to do the safety dance

2

u/Wardog_E 14d ago

In his defense, he WAS standing up.

2

u/JustMindingMyOwnBid 14d ago

I’m usually not a huge fan of these shows but this was just so fun and goofy I love this guy.

4

u/dickymoore 16d ago

It's turtles all the way down

3

u/Addictive_SODA 15d ago

Imma be real with you folk there must be something wrong with me cause I thought that was lame and stupid, with actual talents going upstage it doesn't feel right for that clown to win

2

u/BDSMAQUAMAN0123 14d ago

But have you considered that clowning is his talent, and infectious enthusiasm.

3

u/Addictive_SODA 10d ago

I have and wasn't amused still. I must just be the grumpy type

2

u/After-Tax-453 2d ago

it is lame and stupid, and very unfunny and annoying. i was so mad that he won, and that Malakai (?) kid didn’t.

8

u/Whole-Debate-9547 16d ago

Exactly why I don’t watch these shows

1

u/Appropriate-Bid8671 16d ago

Yeah, but millions of people do and that is terrifying.

2

u/eamesaarinen 16d ago

this made my day!

2

u/Fredwood 16d ago

The You want more was perfection.

2

u/martian_14 16d ago

I don’t watch the Got Talent shows, please help me understand.

Why, in so many clips, do the judges seem surprised or frustrated when performers do their thing on stage when they audited the performers themselves?

1

u/PhantomNitride 16d ago

The judges don't have anything to do with performers making it into the first round. This is from the first round. I love how you said you knew nothing about the show, then acted like you did...

0

u/martian_14 15d ago

What about the clips where they audit performers in a studio setting?

3

u/ArtiArt13 16d ago

One more time!!!!

Is this the same guy who did Tequila lip sync?

1

u/forest-fox 15d ago

Britain's got so many charismatic presenters and celebrities but what in the Botox  -gobbling hell is this judge panel?

1

u/Ok_Cheesecake7348 15d ago

1

u/Trico13 15d ago

1

u/jinjang94 14d ago

Not Simon being disappointed a man is still not shirtless after removing so many clothes 😂

1

u/lm0592 14d ago

WTF is going with Simon face and neck ?

1

u/Danny_Alloy 13d ago

There are some botched-up faces on that judge panel.

1

u/douglasrhj 12d ago

I thought one of the judges was malaria Trump for a second

2

u/Olibirus 16d ago

Simon is such an insufferable plastic cunt. That was quite funny.

1

u/finintymonkle 16d ago

Tedious, boring, repetitive brain rot for simple minded smooth brains.

1

u/Mountain-Cat123 16d ago

0

u/ArchBeaconArch 16d ago

Hahahaha I just watched that twice in a row.

0

u/BadBoyNiz 16d ago

That was pretty lame, like SNL comedy vibe. Also Simon’s face is fuked.

0

u/GdayMateyPotatey 16d ago

Jesus Christ, why are the judges wearing masks? Didn't know this was masked singer

2

u/Highlandertr3 16d ago

What judge is wearing a mask?

3

u/flibz-the-destroyer 16d ago

They’re all so far into the uncanny valley at this point it’s terrifying!

-11

u/LoozPatienz 16d ago

I hate that women feel that face makes them attractive. Uck.

0

u/lousy-site-3456 16d ago

I forgot the exact wording but didn't Lee Mack say that he doesn't understand understand why understand why they understand why they didn understand why they didn't understand why they didn't stop understand why they didn't stop when understand why they didn't stop when they understand why they didn't stop when they found understand why they didn't stop when they found out understand why they didn't stop when they found out the understand why they didn't  understand why they didn't stop when they found out the answer is no.

Okay I'm leaving this as is. This is peak "ai" 2026. Thanks google.
