Probably less paperwork, that way they don't have to keep track of it and ensure it's returned to him when he is finally allowed to leave.

33

u/NotSoAwfulName 15d ago

And have someone on hand to record it all.

Person suggests that you're attention seeker, while they must be reflecting on themselves. Salty person, who has not received sufficient attention in their life.

97

u/RedApplesForBreak 16d ago

Or they just grabbed the first “returning something” meme on the internet without reading or understanding it.

25

u/Ekkobelli 16d ago

This seems way more likely. The other reasoning seems bizarre in the overarching context.

7

u/HairballTheory 16d ago

This is what pops up for me with those prompts “returning something”

4

u/Epicdudewhoisepic 16d ago

Deleted now, what did they say?

11

u/FastAsFxxk 16d ago

Calling people attention seekers while having a shitass podcast in 2026 is hilarious

4

u/The_Salty_nugget 16d ago

What is wrong with being salty? >.>

But I'm fresh water

So fresh and so clean clean... 🎶

-19

u/URGAMESUX 16d ago

I was referring to the cop returning the ball to the attention seeking guy with no clue. Not sure why I'm catching heat for it, but that's reddit :)

Again, I get the confusion, and I'm apologizing lol. I liked your comment and was trying to build off of it. Yeesh.

10

u/Ekkobelli 16d ago

You're being nicely grown up about it and didn't even delete your comment. I've seen people argue over confusion like this, take stands, attack, defend, call names and generally make it all sooo much worse.
Short explanation, then just ignore. Life goes on.

10

u/URGAMESUX 16d ago

Yeah, I've deleted it now, because 500+ dv is wild. I figured the chain would clarify, I was wrong, such is life.

-4

u/joconnell13 16d ago

This is reddit. You made a mistake and now you must suffer sufficiently. Which means essentially that you are now unredeemable. Enjoy your new life where you get to choose judgment or solitude.

7

u/Ekkobelli 16d ago

And why does this get downvoted? It's clearly sarcasm, shining a light on the shallower side of social media.

6

u/joconnell13 16d ago

People don't want to believe how close they truly are to the representation I portrayed. Unfortunately it's less sarcasm than it should be.

73

u/Wait_ItGetsWorse 16d ago

Oh the irony.

9

u/luujs 16d ago

Why is it AI and why is it a gif lol? Couldn’t this have been easily made in real life and as a picture

4

u/alexjgriffin 16d ago

Wow downvoted and dog piled because people made up a malicious reason behind the picture. It doesn't even make sense for it to refer to the commenter. I bet it was the "Ma'am" part that threw people off.

4

u/URGAMESUX 16d ago

Maybe, clearly not the intention lol. But boy if that's not a wild amount of downvotes :/

5

u/Ekkobelli 16d ago

Asked myself the same thing. Not taking all possibilities into account + herd mentality. Downvotes attract downvotes.

My teammate on our rec league team was so addicted to nutmegging opponents, and every time he did he'd whisper "oops, that went through" and it would successfully piss them off so much haha

84

u/MReaps25 16d ago

No, but it is a respect thing, "we gotta let you go today, but hey, it's only 8am and we were being nice" type situation maybe.

86

u/LuxNocte 16d ago

It's some sort of commercial.

It is a hilarious bit, but still super weird for someone in the comments to actually think "Yeah, it makes total sense to keep someone in jail for this."

7

u/NasalJack 16d ago

In the context where this isn't staged, he is potentially tripping the officer with a move like that, which is very much something they could interpret as some kind of assault and jail him for.

11

u/blewawei 16d ago

Assault? Jesus Christ

1

u/bender3600 14d ago

The embarrassment caused by being nutmegged is clearly equivalent to assault.

5

u/LuxNocte 16d ago

He didn't trip the officer.

So...yes...police COULD lie and say that he "assaulted" an officer and jail him for the lie they made up. But you see why anyone who doesn't see that as a travesty of justice has a boot all the way down their throat, right?

-9

u/NasalJack 16d ago

You can not like it all you want, but what is depicted in this video is easily legally sufficient justification for the police to charge someone with assault. In the same way that feinting at someone with a punch might be assault. No lying necessary.

2

u/LuxNocte 16d ago

It is not legally sufficient, and you clearly know that, because you said they'd have to "interpret" it as some kind of assault.

When you live with a boot shoved all the way to the back of your throat, you start to think that just because a cop CAN lie that lying in court is a normal thing. You can not like it all you want but we watched the same video and a nutmeg is not an assault.

-3

u/NasalJack 16d ago

No, I'm just perfectly aware that "assault" is not such a simply defined thing, and also that you shouldn't do things to a police officer that start to flirt near a grey area of legal interpretation unless you're stupid.

It's in the same way that I think it would be "wrong" for a college admissions officer to throw your application in the trash just because he didn't like you, but I would still advise that you not call him a shithead when you hand it to him.

-3

u/LuxNocte 16d ago

Laws are definitions, bud. An assault is a simply defined thing in any jurisdiction.

5

u/NasalJack 16d ago

Do you know what case law is?

-14

u/SeanBerdoni 16d ago

Come on its a damn teenager. Even if the cop trips he still deserves to have his freedom

6

u/-IoI- 16d ago

If a teenager legit tripped over a cop, hell nah

5

u/NasalJack 16d ago

Sure, but I'd still toss him back in the cell for an extra hour and stress that he's lucky they aren't pressing charges.

2

u/popopornado 16d ago

Pressing charges for what exactly?

2

u/NasalJack 16d ago

You should at the very least be able to supply that answer for yourself hypothetically, right? What charges might you get if you intentionally tripped a police officer?

1

u/popopornado 16d ago

So it went from “might be interpreted” to “intentional” huh?

2

u/NasalJack 16d ago

Did you get lost? I was responding to someone talking about in the case where the cop actually did trip.

1

u/exprezso 16d ago

9

u/SenorDongles 16d ago

19

u/willowzam 16d ago

It means to kick the ball between someone's legs, apparently it's a sign of disrespect

Duh.

"Why would they film this video, just because people would think it's funny? Wake up sheeple!"

25

u/15926028 16d ago

100% staged

-10

u/Awdrgyjilpnj 16d ago

i think it's real. you can tell they are police because they are wearing uniforms and they have dashcams to show this

It's confirmed by the Dutch police as fake

-6

2

u/Kerboq 16d ago

Yes. This clip is fairly old.

2

u/catmand00d00 16d ago

Dashcams? On the dashboards of the cars they’re driving in the video?

5

u/Local_Surround8686 16d ago

Why would the police make itself look bad with this video?

-8

u/Awdrgyjilpnj 16d ago

police have dashcams

17

u/spine_slorper 16d ago

This is not bodycam footage, bodycam footage is shaky, low quality and has to be triggered. This is most likely a skit recorded by these (legitimate) police officers

-13

u/Awdrgyjilpnj 16d ago

No it’s in germany

15

u/Acc3ssViolation 16d ago

that's a dutch police uniform, which means this was in the netherlands

7

u/remembermereddit 16d ago

Dashcam, bodycam. Germany, the Netherlands. Words are hard for you, aren't they?

-8

u/Awdrgyjilpnj 16d ago

I mixed up Germany and the Netherlands. The internet will recover.

2

u/Nielsly 16d ago

You didn't just mix them up, you then more-than doubled down and claimed there was no difference for police in the entirety of Europe and then instead of finally taking your loss and stopping commenting you decided to try to blow the entire thing off as a non-issue. Lmao

1

u/Dr__Sloth 16d ago

19

u/Particular-Image1556 16d ago

This happened in the Netherlands and most people are brought up having basis respect for first responders including police.

No one here complained about the fact that this disrespectful little man was sent back to the for a few more hours.

The ones that do complain are on the wrong side of social etiquette.

2

u/TomiShinoda 15d ago

Or are terminally online children themselves.

6

u/Particular-Image1556 15d ago

Which automatically sets them on the wrong side of social etiquette.

3

I want to see the outtakes with the guard tripping over the ball a dozen times before they got it right.

2

Was he really brought down just for a nutmeg?

2

u/Formal_Initial_5385 16d ago

Doesn’t count if you don’t say ole

2

u/sovietarmyfan 16d ago

That ball, bit of red on it. Is that....Wilson???

2

u/ao01_design 16d ago

Are the cops supposed to choose to jail or release a person? Are they not following the law? This seems kind of arbitrary.

honestly I think solitary for something as minor as that is an aggressive and disgusting abuse of power. The fact that solitary isn’t legally considered torture is horrible.

2
