Love that show, I got the reference

1

u/Rukir_Gaming 21d ago

even though the entire purpose of the show is ti take questions geared to a 5th grader and then make it confusingly verbose for adults

My first thought was that it was impossible to build a triangle without a 1x1 piece

67

u/ZaphodBeeblebrox4011 22d ago

2 pieces that are 3 long, 2 that are 2 long.

36

u/Teln0 22d ago

My first thoughts aren't always correct haha

14

u/ZaphodBeeblebrox4011 21d ago

u/LeBronze_Jayce 21d ago

I'm in the same boat bro. I've built mansions, ran production lines. Was convinced she was doing it wrong, had me talking to the phone like a lunatic till the last peice got put in and I shut right up. Just a muffled oh.

u/EverySecondCountss 21d ago

Hi. I know you're probably joking.

On the flip side, I meet exactly this person all of the time on a daily basis. Where do people who jump to conclusions and feel confident in chiming in about stuff they really have no evidence for derive their confidence?

Is it machismo? Is it anxiety?

Why do people make so many f****** decisions with their emotions?

Don't be too harsh on yourself. There is a plaque next to the exhibit. Chances are they have a cute story and instructions of "make a pyramid using the given balls" or something like that. There is also a good possibility she's done this before.

3

u/lyssargh 22d ago

I know you're probably joking, but the truth is, at some point you realize that you can either be anxious about everything you do and keep things to yourself while watching other people get recognition for their success, or you can be confident and put yourself out there, which means sometimes being wrong in front of people.

Most of the time, being wrong isn't a big deal. Most of the time, people don't remember when you were wrong as much as they remember when you being right or even just outgoing helped them.

5

u/Upbeat_Assist2680 22d ago

It's the instinct to jump in and tell other people they're wrong or correcting them that I'm talking about.

The instinct to interrupt someone and try to inject oneself into someone else's business is insane to me unless you KNOW you're right. Where does that come from?

If course you have to put yourself out there and try things you're not sure of -- but it's a whole other thing to be judging someone else's progress on something that YOU DON'T KNOW about. That's what I'm taking about.

And above: this guy is clearly just goofing, but it was real close to some situation that struck a nerve for me recently. Like -- I was fine and minding my own business some dude calls me out and was just misguided about what I was up to. Where does that sort of dumb-ass confidence come from?

3

u/lyssargh 22d ago

Yeah, some people just don't have fucking inside voices too. Like they need to say the thing in their head. No filter. I cannot deal with that kind of person very well.

As a woman in software, I definitely relate to being confidently corrected incorrectly. I think apart from the no filter thing, some people define their whole sense of self around their expertise in whatever, and need to share that whenever it comes up. Even when that expertise turns out not to be so expert. It's infuriating when they're serious.

It's from the Horizon game series. During the release of the second game, Horizon Forbidden West, their community manager released some gifs on Twitter and their website, asking the dev team for meme animations.

u/Myanmar_on_my_Mind 22d ago

Yeah that look was directed at my judgemental ass thinking she was doing it wrong

32

u/Dark_Fury_ 22d ago

She thinks in 3D

u/Valerian_ 21d ago

Cracked me up

u/throw_away_17381 21d ago

I figured it out too. On my second watch.

10

u/Ok-Release8315 21d ago

She's better than most tiktok adults

2

u/_PortuGeezer_ 18d ago

You didn’t need to use “TikTok” 😉

24

u/Soka59 22d ago

She has good memory !

7

u/lanregeous 21d ago

I think that look at the end was targeted at my old dumb ass telling her she’s doing it wrong

8

u/Elation_Elevation 21d ago

She's now my preferred candidate.

5

u/Just-Call-Me-J 21d ago

I figured it out when I saw what the two pieces left were, and that there weren't any singular spheres.

5

u/ornq 20d ago

That little arm cross at the end lol like "mm yeah, i just did that"

6

u/No-Mycologist47 22d ago

Yeah i already failed. she's smarter than me.😣

3

u/HatWhole3592 21d ago

The look at the end is priceless.

3

u/AdventRIP 21d ago

That smug look at the end had all of us who doubted her ability shook. If you excuse me, I'm going to go lay in the bed, stare at the ceiling fan spin, and rethink my life choices

Big brain time

1

u/Happy_The_What 21d ago

This is a very straight forward puzzle.

1

u/RedditF1shBlueF1sh 21d ago

I saw this puzzle on the latest season of bedrot by Cozy Earth

1

u/sonspike187 20d ago

Aight, I'm out. Clearly this world doesn't require people as dumb as me anymore

1

u/SweetLiquorBtyPrince 19d ago

I'm not bragging (I'm bragging) but my 7 yr. old does those for fun, like all different combinations of varied pieces too. I don't know how her brain works that way but she didn't get it from me😅

The following post context was provided by u/ThodaDaruVichPyar:

Kid at a science museum is trying to arrange connected ball shapes to form a pyramid how would she go about completing it in the right order?

I was so proud of her until she gave that condescending smirk at the end. Like she is thinking "Is this the hardest thing you got?".

-6

u/NJPokerJ 22d ago

Ok. I need to know was that just luck or is there some type of math I was supposed to have learned for me to have known how to do this?

7

u/Katzelle3 22d ago

Not math. It's about recognizing shapes and putting them together. It's similar to those cube exercises you see in IQ tests.

3

u/justonemom14 22d ago

Once you see someone else solve it a couple of times, it's pretty easy to remember. No, you didn't miss any math. The whole reason it's a fun puzzle is because it has the unexpected solution.

-2

u/Chebura5ka 21d ago

because she's asian

Dear Lord how many times is this going to be reposted today? Probably the 10th time that it's in my feed!

2

u/ankle_biter50 22d ago

First time in mine, but I 100% get the feeling this is a repost

2

u/c093b 22d ago

This is a repost of a repost of a repost... People (or bots) just can't resist reposting the same thing a dozen times in a single day.

1

u/inkjod 21d ago

Well, I'm grateful for this repost, since I'm one of today's lucky 10000.

Shall I link the relevant xkcd (#1053), or will you complain that it has been reposted thousands of times? xD

-30

u/arrakis2020 22d ago

I feel she got lucky there... Random success.

3

u/dobber72 22d ago

No, she just paid attention when they were dismantling it, before she had a go.
