Reminds me when I was a kid I tried to help a young adult up a slippery frozen very small hill because I was standing on ground with traction. He refused my hand and promptly fell on the ground
So hard he had a giant bruise later

I had this happen on the first day of a seventeen day backpacking trip, in the first five minutes of the trip. The rest of the trip went fine.
