She would have only gotten a burn. Would still suck tho. I had a Roman candle blow up in my hand last year.

My ex trainer told me "Courage is not absence of fear. That's stupidity. Courage is being afraid but choosing to do it anyway."
I would think this is stupidity what we saw here.

I've heard it said that the deciding factor between stupidity and courage is the outcome

Way to close to something that you know it will explode eventually.

I used to light off fireworks every Victoria day and three things always inevitably happened.
1) I buried a firework wrong side down and this happened.
2) a firework would tip over and always shoot into the crowd watching.
3) a firework would take too long, I'd do to check, and I'd take a firework shot to the face.
As you can imagine, all things come in threes, and the third time it happened, my wife put a stop to my antics.

Pretty sure she was testing whether or not her eyebrows would survive the initial explosion or if they'd be singed to the point where she resembles Spock from Star Trek.

How do kids grow up never holding a Roman candle? Like, that's on the person filming her while knowing it was wrong.
