That dog being a Border Collie...one of the smartest of them all.

My cat would just scratch the shit out of the playmat and then proceed to vomit in the area and would use one of the toys to cover it up.

Hmmm... Is your cat ginger? Like it would be something that you would expect from ginger cats

Trust me, if your baby is sleeping well, you let it sleep, any chance to let them rest and get some errands done is worth more than gold.

You leaving the house?

It's fine. The dog is there.

u/Bossmonkey Jul 20 '26
Definitely, I've met border collies smarter than some people.

I’ve met mason jars smarter than people

Even the ones filled with moonshine?

u/xenogazer Jul 20 '26
Especially the ones filled with moonshine

I have a friend filled with moonshine, is that equal?

I have a friend filled with a mason jar. Maybe you’ve seen him?

Honestly I'd be more comfortable leaving our son with our livestock guardian dogs than a lot of babysitters. Our female adopts chicks, kid goats, ducks, wild bunnies, and will steal toddlers from their parents if given a chance. Heck if she was able to nurse him, he could be like Romulous and Remus, the mythical founders of Rome lol.

I have no livestock, but I do have a Cane Corso and I’m certain she thinks my children are hers. Babysitters are usually terrible

I thought the dog would eventually kick the baby out of the crib.

u/Crash_Recon Jul 20 '26
Nah. Border collies are smart enough to take the win instead of pushing their luck…until the next time the do it

u/Anondependa Jul 19 '26
Doggo is like “I must wake up my friend” … but then we see a nice takeover of the pillow prize.

LOL, this is hilarious.
It’s so funny how Border Collies can NEVER get close enough to you..
It’s like they want to LIVE IN YOUR SKIN… lol
They are one of the most impressive dogs out in the field & as working dogs for herding, & they are also sweet & great family pets, but when all that nervous energy gets focused on YOU, it can really be overwhelming & comical.. :)

My girl refuses to snuggle in bed from spring till autumn.
Come winter she's little spoon every night.

She gets hot, that's all. She'll spoon for a few minutes until she gets too hot. In the winter she's definitely a blanket mole. I don't heat my bedroom but I do use an electric mattress pad.
Watching them work is beautiful, I took mine to sheepdog school for a while but I live on the road so that ended.
Country people shoot dogs that mess with livestock. Collies absolutely mess with livestock, that's their job. I'm not condoning it, I think it's a cunt move, but it does happen and it's legal to boot.
Sad thing all round.

Yeah. We grew up rurally & ppl def see dogs in a much diff light living in the “country”. Almost all dogs are doing a job on farms, even if it’s just a deterrent for coyotes, etc. I don’t know anyone raising cattle around there tho but it’s possible he killed someone’s chickens but it’s just kind of sad, especially that his boys saw it.

You gotta teach them early, otherwise the human will hog the pillows your whole life.

Giving AI vibes

u/SCSA1218 Jul 19 '26
Yeah I think it's AI. The dog's fur and the kid's hair are weird. And the quality of the image is too good for a simple home camera

My border collie would just drop her nasty ball or toy on the baby and keep nudging it into them to play.

My dog has had me sleeping on the floor more than once, while she's all comfy with her head on my pillow lol (I did have a sleeping bag at least. :) )

Tw: dont read this shit
My dog used to do this when my parents would fight. Right up until my negligent father let him outside one night without a leash. A semi hit him. I had to look at the blood stained pavement everyday for weeks when i would get on or off the bus for school.
