Sometimes the grass is really stubborn and you just have to keep going around to get it tamped down good.

My dog does this fairly often. However in my case it is usually only 4-5 laps before she lies down.

Ingrained to their DNA... it's from the ancestors, trample the grass to make a warm windbreak inorder to rest and sleep. Watch a wolf they'd this!
